Nehemiah Chapter 12 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] these [are [G3778] the [G3588] priests [G2409] and [G2532] the [G3588] Levites, the [G3588] [ones] going up with [G3326] Zerubbabel son [G5207] of Shealtiel, and [G2532] Jeshua; Saraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
2: Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,
3: Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,
4: Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah,
5: Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,
6: Shemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,
7: Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These [were [G3778] the [G3588] rulers of the [G3588] priests [G2409], and [G2532] their brothers [G1473] in [G1722] days [G2250] of Jeshua.
8: And [G2532] the [G3588] Levites; Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Joiada, Mattaniah, [which was] over [G1909] the [G3588] acknowledgments , he [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473].
9: And [G2532] Bakbukiah and [G2532] Unni, the [G3588]ir brothers [G1473] [were] over against them [G1473] in [G1519] the [G3588] daily rotations [G2183].
10: And [G2532] Jeshua engendered [G1080] the [G3588] Joiakim, and [G2532] Joiakim engendered [G1080] the [G3588] Eliashib, and [G2532] Eliashib the [G3588] [engendered] Joiada,
11: and [G2532] Joiada engendered [G1080] the [G3588] Jonathan, and [G2532] Jonathan engendered [G1080] the [G3588] Jaddua.
12: And [G2532] in [G1722] days [G2250] of Joiakim were the [G3588] priests [G2409], and [G2532] the [G3588] rulers of the [G3588] families [G3965] -- [to the [G3588] Seraiah, Meraiah; [to the [G3588] Jeremiah, Hananiah;
13: [to the [G3588] Ezra, Meshullam; [to the [G3588] Amariah, Jehohanan;
14: [to the [G3588] Melicu, Jonathan; [to the [G3588] Secheniah, Joseph;
15: [to the [G3588] Harim, Adna; the [G3588] to Maraioth, Helkai;
16: [to the [G3588] Iddo, Zechariah; [to the [G3588] Ginnethon, Meshullam;
17: [to the [G3588] Abijah, Zichri; [to the [G3588] Miniamin, Moadiah, [to the [G3588] Piltai,
18: [to the [G3588] Bilgah, Shammua; [to the [G3588] Shemaiah, Jehonathan;
19: [to the [G3588] Joiarib, Mattenai; [to the [G3588] Jedaiah, Uzzi;
20: [to the [G3588] Sallai, Kallai; [to the [G3588] Amok, Eber;
21: [to the [G3588] Hilkiah, Hashabiah; [to the [G3588] Jedaiah, Nethaneel.
22: The [G3588] Levites in [G1722] days [G2250] of Eliashib, [were] Joiada, and [G2532] Joa, and [G2532] Johanan, and [G2532] Jaddua [they were] written down [G1125] [as] rulers of the [G3588] families [G3965]; and [G2532] the [G3588] priests [G2409] in [G1722] government ' of Darius the [G3588] Persian.
23: And sons [G5207][G1161] of Levi, rulers of the [G3588] families [G3965] were written [G1125] upon [G1909] scroll of words [G3056] of the [G3588] days [G2250], even [G2532] until [G2193] days [G2250] of Johanan son [G5207] of Eliashib.
24: And [G2532] the [G3588] rulers of the [G3588] Levites -- Hashabiah, and [G2532] Sherebiah, and [G2532] Jeshua. And [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Kadmiel, and [G2532] their brothers [G1473] over against [G2713] them [G1473], for [G1519] the [G3588] praising and [G2532] making acknowledgment [G1843], by [G1722] command [G1785] of David man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], in daily rotation [G2183] by [G4314] daily rotation [G2183].
25: Mattaniah and [G2532] Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, [were] guarding [G5442] gatekeepers of watch [G5438] in [G1722] the [G3588] my gathering [G4863][G1473] the [G3588] gatekeepers .
26: These [G3778] [were] in [G1722] days [G2250] of Joiakim son [G5207] of Jeshua, son [G5207] of Jozadak, and [G2532] in [G1722] days [G2250] of Nehemiah the [G3588] ruler , and [G2532] Ezra the [G3588] priest [G2409] and [G2532] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]).
27: And [G2532] in [G1722] festival of dedication [G1456] of wall [G5038] of Jerusalem they sought out [G2212] the [G3588] Levites in [G1722] the [G3588]ir places [G5117][G1473], the [G3588] to bring [G5342] them [G1473] into [G1519] Jerusalem, to observe [G4160] holiday of rededication [G1456] with [G2532] gladness [G2167], and [G2532] in [G1722] praise , and [G2532] in [G1722] odes [G5603], playing cymbals , and [G2532] psalteries , and [G2532] lutes .
28: And [G2532] gathered [G4863] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] singers even [G2532] from the [G3588] place [G4066] round about [G2943] Jerusalem, and [G2532] from properties [G1886] of the [G3588] Netophathi.
29: And [G2532] in [G1722] Beth-gilgal and [G2532] from fields of Geba and [G2532] Azmaveth; for [G3754] [nearby] properties [G1886] built [G3618] for themselves [G1438] the [G3588] singers surrounding Jerusalem.
30: And [G2532] cleansed themselves [G2511] the [G3588] priests [G2409] and [G2532] the [G3588] Levites], and [G2532] they cleansed [G2511] the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] the [G3588] gates [G4439], and [G2532] the [G3588] wall [G5038].
31: And [G2532] they brought the [G3588] rulers of Judah upon [G1883] the [G3588] wall [G5038], and [G2532] I stationed [G2476] two [G1417] for [G4012] praise great [companies [G3173], and [G2532] they went [G1330] at [G1537] right [G1188] the [G3588] wall [G5038] of the [G3588] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] dung [G2874].
32: And [G2532] went [G4198] behind [G3694] them [G1473] Hoshaiah and [G2532] half [G2255] [of the] rulers of Judah],
33: and [G2532] Azariah, and [G2532] Ezra, and [G2532] Meshullam,
34: and [G2532] Judah, and [G2532] Benjamin, and [G2532] Shemaiah, and [G2532] Jeremiah.
35: And [G2532] [some] from the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] priests [G2409] with [G1722] trumpets [G4536]; Zechariah son [G5207] of Jonathan, son [G5207] of Shemaiah, son [G5207] of Mathaniah son [G5207] of Michaiah, son [G5207] of Zaccur, son [G5207] of Asaph.
36: And [G2532] brothers of him [G1473], Shemaiah, and [G2532] Azarael, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and [G2532] Judah and [G2532] Hanani, the [G3588] to praise by [G1722] instruments [G4632] in odes [G5603] of David man of God '[G2316]; and [G2532] Ezra the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]) [was] in front [G1715] of them [G1473].
37: At [G1909] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] spring [G4077], over by [G2713] them [G1473], they went up upon [G1909] the [G3588] stairways of city [G4172] of David, by [G1722] ascending the [G3588] wall [G5038] on top of the [G3588] house [G3624] of David, and [G2532] unto [G2193] the [G3588] gate [G4439] the [G3588] water [G5204] according to [G2596] east .
38: And [G2532] for [G4012] praise , the [G3588] second [group [G1208] went forth [G1607] to meet [G4876] them [G1473], and [G2532] I [G1473] was behind [G3694] them [G1473]. And [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] of the [G3588] people [G2992] [were] above [G1883] the [G3588] wall [G5038], up above [G5231] the [G3588] tower [G4444] of the [G3588] furnaces , and [G2532] unto [G2193] the [G3588] wall [G5038] the [G3588] broad [G4116],
39: and [G2532] up above [G5231] the [G3588] gate [G4439] of Ephraim, and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] gate [G4439], the [G3588] [one] of Eisiana, and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] gate [G4439] the [G3588] fish , and [G2532] [by the] tower [G4444] of Hananeel, and [G2532] from the [G3588] tower [G4444] of the [G3588] Meah, and [G2532] unto [G2193] the [G3588] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] sheep [G4262]; and [G2532] they stopped [G2476] upon [G1909] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] prison [G5438].
40: And [G2532] stood [G2476] the [G3588] two [groups [G1417] for the [G3588] praise in [G1722] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] I [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] of the [G3588] commandants [G4755] with [G3326] me [G1473].
41: And [G2532] the [G3588] priests [G2409], Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, Hananiah, [were] with [G1722] trumpets [G4536];
42: and [G2532] Maaseiah, and [G2532] Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Melchijah, and [G2532] Elam, and [G2532] Ezer. And [G2532] were heard the [G3588] singers , and [G2532] Jezrahiah overseer [G1985].
43: And [G2532] they sacrificed [G2380] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] sacrifices great [G3173], and [G2532] they were glad [G2165]. For [G3754] the [G3588] God '[G2316] gladdened [G2165] them [G1473] gladness [G2167] with great [G3173]; and [G2532] the [G3588]ir wives [G1135][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir children [G5043][G1473] were glad [G2165]; and [G2532] was heard the [G3588] gladness [G2167] in [G1722] Jerusalem] from far off [G3113].
44: And [G2532] they ordained [G2525] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] men over [G1909] the [G3588] treasuries [G1049], for the [G3588] treasures [G2344], for the [G3588] first-fruits , and [G2532] for the [G3588] tenths [G1181], the [G3588] to gather [G4863] in [G1722] to them [G1473] from the [G3588] fields of the [G3588] cities [G4172] portions [G3310] to the [G3588] priests [G2409] and [G2532] to the [G3588] Levites; for [G3754] there was gladness [G2167] in [G1722] Judah, and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] priests [G2409], and [G2532] the [G3588] Levites, of the [G3588] [ones] standing [G2476].
45: And [G2532] they guarded [G5442] watch [G5438] of the [G3588]ir God '[G2316][G1473], and [G2532] watches [G5438] of the [G3588] cleansing [G2512], even [G2532] the [G3588] singers and [G2532] the [G3588] gatekeepers , according to [G5613] commands [G1785] of David, and [G2532] Solomon son [G5207] of him [G1473].
46: For [G3754] in [G1722] days [G2250] of David and [G2532] Asaph from beginning [there was] a first [G4413] of the [G3588] singers , and [G2532] a hymn [G5215] and [G2532] praise the [G3588] to God '[G2316].
47: And [G2532] all [G3956] Israel in [G1722] days [G2250] of Zerubbabel, and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] days [G2250] of Nehemiah, [were] giving [G1325] portions [G3310] of the [G3588] singers and [G2532] of the [G3588] gatekeepers -- an account [G3056] day [G2250] by [G1722] day [G2250] of it [G1473]. And [G2532] they sanctified [them to the [G3588] Levites; and [G2532] the [G3588] Levites sanctified [them to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Aaron.
