Luke Chapter 9 - | Early Church Bible

1: And having called together [G4779][G1161] the [G3588] twelve [G1427] trainees '[G3101], he gave [G1325] to them [G1473] power [G1411] and [G2532] authority [G1849] over [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] demons [G1140], and [G2532] diseases [G3554] to cure [G2323].
2: And [G2532] he sent them [G1473] to proclaim [G2784] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] to heal [G2390] the [G3588] [ones] being weak .
3: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], nothing [G3367] Take for [G1519] the [G3588] way [G3598]! neither [G3383] rods [G4464], nor [G3383] provision bag [G4082], nor [G3383] bread , nor [G3383] money , nor [G3383] up [to two [G1417] inner garments [G5509] to have [G2192].
4: And [G2532] into [G1519] which [G3739] ever house [G3614] you should enter [G1525], there [G1563] abide [G3306]! And [G2532] from there [G1564] go forth [G1831]!
5: And [G2532] as many as [G3745] should [G1437] not [G3361] have received [G1209] you [G1473], in going forth [G1831] from the [G3588] that city [G4172][G1565], even [G2532] the [G3588] dust [G2868] off the [G3588] your feet [G4228][G1473] brush off for [G1519] a testimony [G3142] unto [G1909] them [G1473]!
6: And coming forth [G1831][G1161], they went [G1330] through [G2596] the [G3588] towns [G2968], good-word-conveying (evangelizing) '[G2097] and [G2532] curing [G2323] everywhere [G3837].
7: heard And [G1161] Herod the [G3588] tetrarch [G5076] the [things] [G3588] taking place [G1096] by [G5259] 10> him [G1473] all [G3956]; and [G2532] he was perplexed [G1280] because of [G1223] the [G3588] it being said [G3004] by [G5259] some [G5100] that [G3754], John has been raised [G1453] from [G1537] dead [G3498],
8: by [G5259] some [G5100] and [G1161] that [G3754], Elijah was appeared [G5316]; and others [G1161] that [G3754], A prophet [G4396], one [G1520] of the [G3588] ancient ones rose up .
9: And [G2532] Herod said [G2036], John I [G1473] beheaded , but who [G5100][G1161] is this [G3778] concerning [G4012] of which [G3739] I [G1473] hear such [G5108]? And [G2532] he sought [G2212] to see [G1492] him [G1473].
10: And [G2532] returning [G5290], the [G3588] sent ones (apostles) ' described [G1334] to him [G1473] as much as [G3745] they did [G4160]. And [G2532] taking them to himself [G3880][G1473], he retreated [G5298] in [G2596] private [G2398] into [G1519] place [G5117] a desolate [G2048] of a city [G4172] being called [G2564] Bethsaida.
11: But the [G3588][G1161] crowds [G3793], having known [G1097], followed him [G1473]. And [G2532] having received [G1209] them [G1473], he spoke [G2980] to them [G1473] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316]; and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] need [G5532] having [G2192] of treatment [G2322] he healed [G2390].
12: But the [G3588][G1161] day [G2250] began to decline [G2827]; having come forward [G4334] and [G1161] the [G3588] twelve [G1427], said [G2036] to him [G1473], Dismiss the [G3588] crowd [G3793]! that [G2443] going forth into [G1519] the [G3588] round about [G2945] towns [G2968] and [G2532] the [G3588] fields they should rest up [G2647], and [G2532] should find [G2147] provisions [G1979]; for [G3754] here [G5602] in [G1722] a desolate [G2048] place [G5117] we are .
13: And he said [G2036][G1161] to [G4314] them [G1473], give [G1325] to them [G1473] You [G1473] to eat [G2068]! And they the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036], There not [G3756] are with us [G1473] more [G4183] than [G2228] five [G4002] bread loaves and [G2532] two [G1417] fishes [G2486], unless [G1509] having gone [G4198] we [G1473] should buy for [G1519] all [G3956] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778] foods [G1033].
14: For there were [G1063] about [G5616] men five thousand [G4000]. And he said [G2036][G1161] to [G4314] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473], Lay them down [G2625][G1473] in resting-places [G2828] by fifties [G4004].
15: And [G2532] they did [G4160] so [G3779], and [G2532] they laid them down together all .
16: And having taken [G2983][G1161] the [G3588] five [G4002] bread loaves and [G2532] the [G3588] two [G1417] fishes [G2486], looking up into [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], he blessed [G2127] them [G1473], and [G2532] broke off in pieces [G2622], and [G2532] gave [G1325] to the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] to place near [G3908] to the [G3588] crowd [G3793].
17: And [G2532] they ate [G2068], and [G2532] all were filled [G5526][G3956]. And [G2532] was taken up the [G3588] abounding [portion [G4052] to them [G1473] of pieces [G2801] -- hampers [G2894] twelve [G1427].
18: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] his being [G1473] praying [G4336] alone [G2651], were with [G4895] him [G1473] the [G3588] disciples [G3101], and [G2532] he questioned [G1905] them [G1473], saying [G3004], Whom [do [G5100] me [G1473] say [G3004] the [G3588] crowds [G3793] to be ?
19: And they the [G3588][G1161] answering said [G2036], John the [G3588] Baptist ; and others [G1161], Elijah; and others [G1161] that [G3754], A certain prophet [G4396][G5100] of the [G3588] ancients rose up .
20: And he said [G2036][G1161] to them [G1473], But you [G1473][G1161], whom [G5100] do you say me [G1473][G3004] to be ? And answering [G1161] Peter said [G2036], the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547] of the [G3588] God '[G2316].
21: And he the [G3588][G1161] having reproached [G2008] them [G1473], exhorted [them [G3853] no one [G3367] to tell [G2036] this [G3778],
22: having said [G2036] that [G3754], It is necessary [G1163] for the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man many [things] [G4183] to suffer [G3958], and [G2532] to be rejected by the [G3588] elders [G4245] and [G2532] chief priests and [G2532] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]), and [G2532] to be killed , and [G2532] the [G3588] third [G5154] day [G2250] to be raised [G1453].
23: And he said [G3004][G1161] to [G4314] all [G3956], If [G1487] any [G5100] wants [G2309] after [G3694] me [G1473] to come [G2064], let him totally reject himself [G1438], and [G2532] lift the [G3588] his cross [G4716][G1473] by [G2596] day [G2250], and [G2532] follow me [G1473]!
24: For who [G3739][G1063] ever [G1437] should want [G2309] the [G3588] his life [G5590][G1473] to preserve [G4982] will lose it [G1473]; but who [G3739][G1161] ever should lose the [G3588] his life [G5590][G1473] because of [G1752] me [G1473], this one [G3778] will preserve [G4982] it [G1473].
25: For what [G5100][G1063] benefits [G5623] a man , having gained [G2770] the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889] whole [G3650], himself [G1438] but [G1161] destroying or [G2228] suffering loss [G2210]?
26: For who [G3739][G1063] ever is ashamed of [G1870] me [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] my [G1699] words [G3056], this one [G3778] the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man will be ashamed of [G1870] whenever [G3752] he should come [G2064] in [G1722] the [G3588] glory [G1391] of him [G1473], and [G2532] of the [G3588] father [G3962], and [G2532] of the [G3588] pure ' word-conveyers (messengers) '.
27: But I say [G3004][G1161] to you [G1473] truly , there are some [G5100] of the [G3588] [ones] here [G5602] standing [G2476] who [G3739] in no way will taste [G1089] death [G2288] until [G2193] whenever they should see [G1492] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316].
28: And it came to pass [G1096][G1161] after [G3326] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778], about [G5616] days [G2250] eight [G3638]; and [G2532] having taken with himself [G3880] Peter and [G2532] John and [G2532] James, he went up into [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] to pray [G4336].
29: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] his praying [G4336][G1473], for the [G3588]m [G1491] of the [G3588] his person [G4383] [became] another [G2087], and [G2532] the [G3588] his clothes [G2441][G1473] white [G3022] flashing [G1823].
30: And [G2532] look [G2400], men two [G1417] conversed together [G4814] with him [G1473], who [G3748] were Moses and [G2532] Elijah.
31: the [ones] [G3588] appearing [G3708] in [G1722] glory [G1391] spoke of [G3004] the [G3588] his departure [G1841][G1473] which [G3739] he was about [G3195] to fulfill [G4137] in [G1722] Jerusalem.
32: the [G3588] And [G1161] Peter and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] with [G4862] him [G1473] were being weighed down with sleep [G5258]; and staying awake [G1235][G1161] they looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] glory [G1391] of him [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] two [G1417] men the [G3588] standing [G4921] with him [G1473].
33: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir parting [G1316][G1473] from him [G1473], Peter said [G2036] the [G3588] to [G4314] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), Boss [G1988], it is good [G2570] for us [G1473] to be here [G5602]; for [G2532] we should make [G4160] tents [G4633] three [G5140] -- one [G1520] for you [G1473], and [G2532] one for Moses [G1520], and [G2532] one [G1520] for Elijah; not [G3361] knowing [G1492] what [G3739] he says [G3004].
34: these [things] [G3778] And [G1161] of of him '[G1473] saying [G3004] there came [G1096] a cloud [G3507] and [G2532] overshadowed [G1982] them [G1473]; and they were afraid [G5399][G1161] in [G1722] of the [G3588] those ones [G1565] entering [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] cloud [G3507].
35: And [G2532] a voice [G5456] came [G1096] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] cloud [G3507], saying [G3004], This [G3778] is the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473] the [G3588] beloved , of him [G1473] hear !
36: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] taking place [G1096] the [G3588] voice [G5456], Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) was found [G2147] the [G3588] alone [G3441]. And [G2532] they [G1473] were quiet [G4601], and [G2532] to no one [G3762] they reported in [G1722] those [G1565] the [G3588] days [G2250] anything [G3762] of what [G3739] they [had] seen [G3708].
37: And it came to pass [G1096][G1161] on [G1722] the [G3588] next [G1836] day [G2250], of their going down [G2718][G1473] from the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735], there met with [G4876] him [G1473] crowd [G3793] a great [G4183].
38: And [G2532] look [G2400], a man from the [G3588] crowd [G3793] yelled out , saying [G3004], Teacher [G1320] ["Rabbi [G4461]" John 1:38], I beseech [G1189] you [G1473] to look [G1914] upon [G1909] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473]! for [G3754] he is an only child [G3439] to me [G1473].
39: And [G2532] look [G2400], a wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] takes [G2983] him [G1473], and [G2532] suddenly [G1810] he cries out [G2896], and [G2532] it throws him into a spasm [G4682][G1473] with [G3326] foam , and [G2532] hardly [G3425] retreats from him [G1473] breaking [G4937] him [G1473].
40: And [G2532] I beseeched [G1189] the [G3588] your trainees '[G3101][G1473] that [G2443] they should cast it out [G1544][G1473], and [G2532] they were not able [G3756][G1410].
41: And responding [G1161] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) said [G2036], O [G5599] generation [G1074] unbelieving and [G2532] being perverted [G1294], until how long [G2193][G4219] will I be with [G4314] you [G1473], and [G2532] endure you [G1473]? Bring [G4317] here [G5602] the [G3588] your son [G5207][G1473]!
42: And while yet [G2089][G1161] during his coming forward [G4334][G1473], tore [G4486] him [G1473] the [G3588] demon [G1140] and [G2532] flailed about [G4952]; gave reproach [G2008] and [G1161] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) to the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] the [G3588] unclean , and [G2532] healed [G2390] the [G3588] child [G3816], and [G2532] gave him back [G1473] [to the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473].
43: were overwhelmed [G1605] And [G1161] all [G3956] at [G1909] the [G3588] magnificence [G3168] of the [G3588] God '[G2316]. And [as] all [G3956][G1161] were wondering [G2296] over [G1909] all [G3956] what [G3739] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) did [G4160] the [G3588], he said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473],
44: You put [G5087][G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] your ears [G3775][G1473] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778]! the [G3588][G1063] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man is about [G3195] to be delivered [G3860] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of men .
45: And they the [G3588][G1161] knew not the [G3588] this saying [G4487][G3778], and [G2532] it was being covered up [G3871] from them [G1473], that [G2443] they should not [G3361] perceive it [G1473]; and [G2532] they feared [G5399] to ask [G2065] him [G1473] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] this saying [G4487][G3778].
46: And there entered [G1525][G1161] an arguing [G1261] among [G1722] them [G1473] -- the [G3588] [one] who [G5100] ever may be greater [G3173] of them [G1473].
47: the [G3588] And [G1161] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) knowing [G1492] the [G3588] arguing [G1261] of the [G3588]ir hearts [G2588][G1473], having taken hold of [G1949] a child [G3813], he set [G2476] it [G1473] by [G3844] himself [G1438].
48: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], Who [G3739] ever [G1437] should receive [G1209] this [G3778] the [G3588] child [G3813] in [G1909] the [G3588] name [G3686] of me [G1473], receives me [G1473][G1209]; and [G2532] who [G3739] ever [G1437] receives me [G1473][G1209], receives [G1209] the [G3588] [one] sending me [G1473]. for the [G3588] [G1063] lesser [G3397] among [G1722] all [G3956] you [G1473] existing [G5224], this one [G3778] will be great [G3173].
49: And responding [G1161] the [G3588] John said [G2036], Boss [G1988], we looked [at] [G1492] one [G5100] by [G1909] the [G3588] your name [G3686][G1473] casting out [G1544] the [G3588] demons [G1140], and [G2532] we restrained [G2967] him [G1473], for [G3754] he does not [G3756] follow with [G3326] us [G1473].
50: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), Restrain not [G3361][G2967]! for the one which [G3739][G1063] not [G3756] is against [G2596] us [G1473] for [G5228] us [G1473] is .
51: And it came to pass [G1096][G1161] in [G1722] the [G3588] filling up [G4845] the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] his being lifted up [G1473], and [G2532] he [G1473] the [G3588] his face [G4383][G1473] firmly fixed [G4741] the [G3588] to go [G4198] into [G1519] Jerusalem.
52: And [G2532] he sent word-conveyers (messengers) ' before [G4253] his face [G4383][G1473]. And [G2532] having gone [G4198], they entered [G1525] into [G1519] a town [G2968] of Samaritans, so as [G5620] to prepare [G2090] for him [G1473].
53: And [G2532] they did not [G3756] receive [G1209] him [G1473], for [G3754] the [G3588] his face [G4383][G1473] was [as going [G4198] to [G1519] Jerusalem.
54: And knowing [G1492][G1161], the [G3588] his trainees '[G3101][G1473] James and [G2532] John said [G2036], O Boss '[G2962], do you want [G2309] we should tell [G2036] fire [G4442] to descend [G2597] from the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] consume them [G1473] as [G5613] also [G2532] Elijah did [G4160]?
55: And turning [G4762][G1161], he gave reproach [G2008] to them [G1473], and [G2532] said [G2036], You do not know [G3756][G1492] of what [G3634] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] you are [G1473].
56: For the [G3588][G1063] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man came not [G3756][G2064] lives [G5590] of men to destroy , but to preserve [G4982]. And [G2532] they went [G4198] unto [G1519] another [G2087] town [G2968].
57: And it came to pass [G1096][G1161] in their going [G4198][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598], said [G2036] a certain one [G5100] to [G4314] him [G1473], I will follow you [G1473] where [G3699] ever you should go , O Boss '[G2962].
58: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), the [G3588] foxes dens [G5454] have [G2192], and [G2532] the [G3588] birds [G4071] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] shelters [G2682], but the [G3588][G1161] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man does not have [G3756][G2192] where [G4226] the [G3588] head [G2776] he should lean [G2827].
59: And he said [G2036][G1161] to [G4314] another [G2087], Follow me [G1473]! And he the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036], O Boss '[G2962], commit it [G2010] to me [G1473]! having gone forth first [G4412] to bury [G2290] the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473].
60: said [G2036] And [G1161] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), Let the [G3588] dead [G3498] bury [G2290] the [G3588]ir own [G1438] dead [G3498]! but you [G1473][G1161] going forth declare [G1229] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316]!
61: And said [G2036][G1161] also [G2532] another [G2087], I will follow you [G1473], O Boss '[G2962], but first [G4412][G1161] commit [G2010] to me [G1473] to dismiss the [G3588] [ones] in [G1519] the [G3588] my house [G3624][G1473].
62: said [G2036] And [G1161] to [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), No one [G3762] having put [G1911] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473] upon [G1909] a plow , and [G2532] looking at [G1519] the [things] [G3588] behind [G3694], is fit [G2111] for [G1519] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316].
