1: And as [G5613][G1161] heard Adoni-zedec king of Jerusalem] that [G3754] Joshua took [G2983] the [G3588] Ai, and [G2532] utterly destroyed [G1842] it [G1473], in which [G3739] manner [G5158] he did [G4160] the [G3588] to Jericho and [G2532] the [G3588] her king [G1473], and thus [G3779] they did [G4160] also [G2532] the [G3588] to Ai and [G2532] the [G3588] her king [G1473], and [G2532] that [G3754] deserted the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Gibeon] to [G4314] Joshua and [G2532] to [G4314] Israel, and [G2532] were [G1096] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of them [G1473];
2: that [G2532] they feared [G5399] among [G1722] themselves [G1473] exceedingly [G4970]. For he knew [G1492][G1063] that [G3754] the [G3588] city [G4172] was a great [G3173] Gibeon], as [G5616] also [G2532] one [G1520] of the [G3588] mother-cities [G3390] of the [G3588] kings , for [G3754] it [G1473] [was] great [G3173], over [G5228] the [G3588] Ai, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] its men [G1473] [were] strong [G2478].
3: And [G2532] sent Adoni-zedec king of Jerusalem] to [G4314] Holam king of Hebron, and [G2532] to [G4314] Piram king of Jarmuth, and [G2532] to [G4314] Japhia king of Lachish, and [G2532] to [G4314] Debir king of Eglon, saying [G3004],
4: Come [G1205], go up to [G4314] me [G1473], and [G2532] help me [G1473]! and [G2532] we will wage war against the [G3588] Gibeon. For it deserted [G1063] to [G4314] Joshua, and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel!
5: And [G2532] they gathered [G4863] and [G2532] ascended -- the [G3588] five [G4002] kings of the [G3588] Amorites -- king of Jerusalem, and [G2532] king of Hebron, and [G2532] king of Jerimuth, and [G2532] king of Lachish, and [G2532] king of Eglon, they [G1473] and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588]ir people [G2992][G1473]; and [G2532] they besieged the [G3588] Gibeon and [G2532] [attempted] to capture it [G1473].
6: And [G2532] sent the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Gibeon] to [G4314] Joshua into [G1519] the [G3588] camp [G3925] of Israel in [G1519] Gilgal, saying [G3004], Do not [G3361] loosen [G1590] the [G3588] your hands [G5495][G1473] from the [G3588] your servants [G3816][G1473]! go up to [G4314] us [G1473] the [G3588] quickly [G5034] and [G2532] rescue [G1807] us [G1473], and [G2532] help us [G1473]! for [G3754] are gathering [G4863] against [G1909] us [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] kings of the [G3588] Amorites], the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in the [G3588] mountainous area [G3714].
7: And [G2532] Joshua went up from [G1537] Gilgal, he [G1473] and [G2532] every [G3956] the [G3588] warrior with [G3326] him [G1473], all [G3956] mighty [G1415] in [G1722] strength [G2479].
8: And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] Joshua, Do not [G3361] fear [G5399] them [G1473]! for into [G1519][G1063] the [G3588] your hands [G5495][G1473] I have delivered [G3860] them [G1473]; there will not stand [G3756] even one [G3762] of [G1537] them [G1473] before [G1799] you [G1473].
9: And [G2532] when [G1893] came [G3854] upon [G1909] them [G1473] Joshua] suddenly , [for the] entire [G3650] the [G3588] night [G3571] he was gone [G1531] from out of [G1537] Gilgal,
10: that [G2532] startled [G1839] them [G1473] Boss '[G2962] from in front [G4383] of Israel, and [G2532] defeated [G4937] them [G1473] Boss '[G2962] defeat with a great [G3173] in [G1722] Gibeon. And [G2532] they pursued [G2614] them [G1473] by way [G3598] ascending to Beth-horon, and [G2532] they slew them [G2629][G1473] unto [G2193] Azekah and [G2532] unto [G2193] Makkedah.
11: But in [G1722][G1161] the [G3588]ir fleeing [G5343][G1473] from in front [G4383] of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel at [G1909] the [G3588] descent [G2600] of Beth-horon, that [G2532] Boss '[G2962] cast upon [G1977] them [G1473] stones [G3037] of hail [G5464] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] unto [G2193] Azekah. And [G2532] there were [G1096] more [G4183] the [G3588] dying by [G1223] the [G3588] stones [G3037] of the [G3588] hail [G5464] than [G2228] which [G3739] were killed the [G3588] by sons [G5207] of Israel by sword [G3162] in [G1722] the [G3588] battle [G4171].
12: Then [G5119] Joshua spoke [G2980] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962] in the [G3739] day [G2250] God delivered up [G3860] the [G3588][G2316] the [G3588] Amorites under hand of sons [G5207] of Israel. And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036] the [G3588], the [G3588] sun [G2246] over [G2596] Gibeon Let stand [G2476], and [G2532] the [G3588] moon [G4582] over [G2596] ravine [G5327] of Ajalon.
13: And [G2532] stood [G2476] the [G3588] sun [G2246] and [G2532] the [G3588] moon [G4582] in [G1722] position [G4714] until [G2193] God repulsed the [G3588][G2316] the [G3588]ir enemies [G2190][G1473]. Is this not [G3780][G3778] written [G1125] in [G1909] scroll of the [G3588] upright ? And [G2532] stood [G2476] the [G3588] sun [G2246] in [G2596] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], it did not [G3756] go forth [G4313] into [G1519] descent [G1424] for [G1519] completion [G5056] day [G2250] of one [G1520].
14: And [G2532] there was not [G3756][G1096] a day [G2250] such [G5108] nor [G3761] for the [G3588]mer [G4387] nor [G3761] the [G3588] latter [G2078], so as for [G5620] God to heed [G1873][G2316] voice [G5456] of man , because [G3754] Boss '[G2962] joined in war with the [G3588] Israel.
15: And [G2532] Joshua returned [G1994], and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel with [G3326] him [G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] camp [G3925] in [G1519] Gilgal.
16: And [G2532] fled [G5343] the [G3588] five [G4002] kings these [G3778] and [G2532] hid in [G1519] the [G3588] cave [G4693] -- the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Makkedah.
17: And [G2532] it was reported the [G3588] to Joshua, saying [G3004], have been found [G2147] the [G3588] five [G4002] kings hiding [G2928] in [G1722] the [G3588] cave [G4693], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Makkedah.
18: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036], Roll [G2947] stones [G3037] great [G3173] upon [G1909] the [G3588] mouth [G4750] of the [G3588] cave [G4693], and [G2532] place [G2525] upon [G1909] them [G1473] men the [G3588] to guard [G5442][G1909] them [G1473]!
19: But you [G1473][G1161] do not [G3361] stand firmly [G4739]! be pursuing [G2614] after [G3694] the [G3588] enemies [G2190] of you [G1473], and [G2532] overtake [G2638] the [G3588]ir rear guard [G1473], and [G2532] do not [G3361] let them [G1473] enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588]ir cities [G4172][G1473]! delivered [G3860] for [G1063] them [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] our hands [G5495][G1473].
20: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] Joshua rested [G2664], and [G2532] the [G3588] son [G5207] of Israel, in beating [G2875] them [G1473] slaughter [G2871] great [G3173] [with] an exceedingly [G4970] even [G2193] unto [G1519] completion [G5056], that [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] surviving [G1295] were delivered [G1295] from them [G1473], and [G2532] entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] cities [G4172] for the [G3588]tified .
21: And [G2532] returned all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] to [G4314] Joshua in [G1519] Makkedah in [G1519] the [G3588] camp [G3925] in health [G5199]; and [G2532] not [G3756] growled of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel one [G3762] the [G3588] with his tongue [G1100][G1473].
22: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036], Open the [G3588] cave [G4693], and [G2532] lead out [G1806] to [G4314] me [G1473] the [G3588] five [G4002] kings these [G3778] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] cave [G4693]!
23: And [G2532] they did [G4160] thus [G3779], and [G2532] they led [G1806] to [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] five [G4002] kings these [G3778] out of [G1537] the [G3588] cave [G4693] -- the [G3588] king of Jerusalem, and [G2532] the [G3588] king of Hebron, and [G2532] the [G3588] king of Jarmuth, and [G2532] the [G3588] king of Lachish, and [G2532] the [G3588] king of Eglon.
24: And [G2532] when [G1893] they led [G1806] them [G1473] to [G4314] Joshua, then [G2532] Joshua called together [G4779] every [G3956] man of Israel, saying [G3004] to them [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] commencing [G1728] the [G3588] war [G4171] of the [G3588] [ones] going with [G4848] him [G1473], saying [G3004] to them [G1473], Go forth [G4313] and [G2532] place [G2007] the [G3588] your feet [G4228][G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588]ir necks [G5137][G1473]! And [G2532] coming forward [G4334], they placed [G2007] the [G3588]ir feet [G4228][G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588]ir necks [G5137][G1473].
25: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473] Joshua], You should not [G3361] fear [G5399] them [G1473] nor [G3366] be timid [G1168]; be manly and [G2532] be strong [G2480]! for [G3754] thus [G3779] BOSS will do [G4160][G2962] to all [G3956] the [G3588] enemies [G2190] of you [G1473] whom [G3739] you [G1473] make war against them [G1473].
26: And [G2532] killed them [G1473] Joshua after [G3326] this [G3778], and [G2532] put them to death [G2289][G1473], and [G2532] hung them [G1473] upon [G1909] five [G4002] trees [G3586]. And [G2532] they were hanging [G2910] upon [G1909] the [G3588] trees [G3586] until [G2193] evening [G2073].
27: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] towards [G4314] descent [G1424] of sun [G2246], and [G2532] Joshua gave charge [G1781], and [G2532] they lowered [G2507] them [G1473] from the [G3588] trees [G3586]. And [G2532] they tossed [G4495] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] cave [G4693] into [G1519] which [G3739] they took refuge [G2703] there [G1563]. And [G2532] they rolled stones [G3037] great [G3173] upon [G1909] the [G3588] cave [G4693], [which remains] until [G2193] the [G3588] day [G2250] today [G4594].
28: And [G2532] the [G3588] Makkedah took [G2983] Joshua] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565], and [G2532] he slaughtered [G5407] it [G1473] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of sword , and [G2532] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] they utterly destroyed [G1842] them [G1473], and [G2532] every one [G3956] breathing [G1709] [that the [G3588] was in [G1722] it [G1473]. And [G2532] there was not [G3756] left behind [G2641] in [G1722] it [G1473] any one [G3762] surviving [G1295]. And [G2532] they did [G4160] to the [G3588] king of Makkedah in which [G3739] manner [G5158] they did [G4160] to the [G3588] king of Jericho.
29: And [G2532] Joshua went forth , and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel with [G3326] him [G1473], from out of [G1537] Makkedah unto [G1519] Libna. And [G2532] they assaulted against [G2089] Libna.
30: And [G2532] BOSS delivered [G3860][G2962] it also [G2532][G1473] into [G1722] hand [G5495] of Israel. And [G2532] they took [G2983] it [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] its king [G1473]. And [G2532] they slaughtered [G5407] it [G1473] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of sword , and [G2532] every one [G3956] breathing [G1709] [that the [G3588] was in [G1722] it [G1473]; there was not [G3756] left behind [G2641] in [G1722] her [G1473] not even [G3761] one [G1520] surviving [G1295] and [G2532] having escaped [G1309]. And [G2532] they did [G4160] [to the [G3588] its king [G1473] in which [G3739] manner [G5158] they did [G4160] to the [G3588] king of Jericho.
31: And [G2532] Joshua went forth , and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel with [G3326] him [G1473], from out of [G1537] Libna unto [G1519] Lachish; and [G2532] he besieged it [G1473], and [G2532] assaulted it [G1473].
32: And [G2532] BOSS delivered [G3860][G2962] the [G3588] Lachish into [G1519] the [G3588] hands [G5495] of Israel. And [G2532] he took [G2983] it [G1473] on the [G3588] second [G1208] day [G2250], and [G2532] he slaughtered [G5407] it [G1473] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of sword , and [G2532] utterly destroyed [G1842] it [G1473] in which [G3739] manner [G5158] he did [G4160] the [G3588] to Libna.
33: Then [G5119] went up Horam king of Gezer] to help the [G3588] Lachish. And [G2532] struck [G3960] him [G1473] Joshua] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of sword , and [G2532] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473], until [G2193] [there was the [G3588] not [G3361] being left behind [G2641] of them [G1473] one being delivered [G4982] and [G2532] escaping [G1309].
34: And [G2532] Joshua went forth , and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel with [G3326] him [G1473], from [G1537] Lachish unto [G1519] Eglon, and [G2532] he besieged it [G1473], and [G2532] captured it [G1473].
35: And [G2532] delivered [G3860] it [G1473] Boss '[G2962] into [G1722] hand [G5495] of Israel. And [G2532] he took [G2983] it [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1473], and [G2532] he slaughtered [G5407] it [G1473] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of sword , and [G2532] every one [G3956] breathing [G1709] in [G1722] it [G1473]. In [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] they slaughtered [G5407] in which [G3739] manner [G5158] they did [G4160] the [G3588] to Lachish.
36: And [G2532] Joshua went forth , and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel with [G3326] him [G1473], from Eglon unto [G1519] Hebron. And [G2532] they besieged it [G1473].
37: And [G2532] they overtook [G2638] it [G1473], and [G2532] struck [G3960] it [G1473] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of sword , and [G2532] the [G3588] its king [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] all [G3956] its villages [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] every one [G3956] the [G3588] breathing [G1709], as many as [G3745] was in [G1722] it [G1473]. There was not [G3756] one surviving [G1295]. In which [G3739] manner [G5158] they did [G4160] [to the [G3588] Eglon, also [G2532] they utterly destroyed [G1842] it [G1473] and [G2532] all [G3956] breathing [G1709], as much as [G3745] [was] in [G1722] it [G1473].
38: And [G2532] Joshua returned , and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel with [G3326] him [G1473], to [G1519] Debir; and [G2532] they besieged it [G1473].
39: And [G2532] and they took [G2983] it [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] its king [G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473]; and [G2532] they struck [G3960] it [G1473] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of sword , and [G2532] they utterly destroyed [G1842] it [G1473], and [G2532] every one [G3956] breathing [G1709] in [G1722] it [G1473], and [G2532] they did not [G3756] leave behind [G2641] one [G3762] surviving [G1295]. In which [G3739] manner [G5158] they did [G4160] the [G3588] to Hebron, so [G3779] they did [G4160] the [G3588] to Dabir, and [G2532] [to the [G3588] its king [G1473]; just as [G2509] he did [G4160] the [G3588] to Libna and [G2532] the [G3588] its king [G1473].
40: And [G2532] Joshua struck [G3960] the [G3588] all [G3956] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] mountainous area [G3714], and [G2532] the [G3588] Negev, and [G2532] the [G3588] plain [G3977], and [G2532] the [G3588] Asedoth, and [G2532] the [G3588] all [G3956] its kings [G1473]; they did not [G3756] leave behind [G2641] in [G1722] it [G1473] one being delivered [G4982], and [G2532] every one [G3956] breathing [G1709] life [G2222] they utterly destroyed [G1842]; in which [G3739] manner [G5158] gave charge [G1781] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel].
41: And [G2532] killed them [G1473] Joshua] from Kadesh Barnea unto [G2193] Gaza, all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Goshen unto [G2193] the [G3588] Gibeon.
42: And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588]se kings [G3778] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473] Joshua took [G2983] at once ; for [G3754] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel joined in war with the [G3588] Israel.
43: And [G2532] Joshua returned to [G1519] Gilgal.
