John Chapter 18 - | Early Church Bible

1: These [things] [G3778] having said [G2036], the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) came forth [G1831] with [G4862] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473] on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493] of the [G3588] Kidron, where [G3699] there was a garden [G2779] into [G1519] which [G3739] entered [G1525] he [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his disciples [G3101][G1473].
2: knew [G1492] And [G1161] also [G2532] Judas the [G3588] [one] delivering him up [G3860][G1473] the [G3588] place [G5117]; for [G3754] often [G4178] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) gathered together [G4863] the [G3588]re [G1563] with [G3326] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473].
3: the [G3588]n [G3767] Judas, taking [G2983] the [G3588] cohort [G4686] and [G2532] of [G1537] the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]) officers [G5257], came [G2064] there [G1563] with [G3326] torches [G5322] and [G2532] lamps [G2985] and [G2532] weapons [G3696].
4: Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) then [G3767] knowing [G1492] all [things] [G3956], the [G3588] [ones] coming [G2064] upon [G1909] him [G1473], having come forth [G1831], said [G2036] to them [G1473], Whom [G5100] do you seek [G2212]?
5: They answered to him [G1473], Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) the [G3588] Nazarene. says [G3004] to them [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), I [G1473] am [he . And standing by [G2476][G1161] also [G2532] [was] Judas, the [G3588] [one] delivering him up [G3860][G1473], with [G3326] them [G1473].
6: When then [G5613][G3767] he said [G2036] to them [G1473] that [G3754], I [G1473] am [he , they went rearwards [G1519] the [G3588][G3694], and [G2532] fell [G4098] on the ground [G5476].
7: Again [G3825] then [G3767] he asked them [G1473][G1905], Whom [G5100] do you seek [G2212]? the [G3588] And [G1161] they said [G2036], Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) the [G3588] Nazarene.
8: Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) answered the [G3588], I said [G2036] to you [G1473] that [G3754] I [G1473] am [he . If [G1487] then [G3767] you seek me [G1473][G2212], let these [G3778] go [G5217]!
9: that [G2443] should be fulfilled [G4137] the [G3588] word [G3056] which [G3739] he said [G2036], that [G3754], Whom [G3739] you have given [G1325] to me [G1473] perished not [G3756] of [G1537] them [G1473] not one [G3762].
10: Simon Peter then [G3767] having [G2192] a sword [G3162] drew [G1670] it [G1473], and [G2532] hit [G3817] of the [G3588] [G3588] chief priest servant [G1401], and [G2532] cut off of him '[G1473] the [G3588] ear [G5621] the [G3588] right [G1188]. was And [G1161] name [G3686] to the [G3588] servant [G1401] Malchus.
11: said [G2036] then [G3767] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) the [G3588] to Peter, Put the [G3588] your sword [G3162][G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] its holder [G2336]! the [G3588] cup [G4221] which [G3739] has given [G1325] to me [G1473] the [G3588] father [G3962], should I in no way drink [G4095] it [G1473]?
12: Then the [G3588][G3767] cohort [G4686] and [G2532] the [G3588] commander [G5506] and [G2532] of the [G3588]ficers [G5257] of the [G3588] Jews seized [G4815] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), and [G2532] bound [G1210] him [G1473].
13: And [G2532] they took him away [G1473] to [G4314] Annas first [G4412]; for he was [G1063] father-in-law [G3995] of the [G3588] Caiaphas, who [G3739] was chief priest the [G3588] that year [G1763][G1565].
14: And it was [G1161] Caiaphas the [G3588] advising [G4823] the [G3588] Jews, [saying] that [G3754], It is advantageous [G4851] [for] one [G1520] man to perish for [G5228] the [G3588] people [G2992].
15: followed And [G1161] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) Simon Peter], and [G2532] another trainee '[G3101]. the [G3588] And [G1161] that trainee '[G3101][G1565] was known [G1110] to the [G3588] chief priest , and [G2532] he entered together with [G4897] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) into [G1519] the [G3588] courtyard of the [G3588] chief priest .
16: the [G3588] And [G1161] Peter stood [G2476] by [G4314] the [G3588] door [G2374] outside [G1854]. came forth [G1831] then [G3767] the [G3588] trainee '[G3101] the [G3588] other who [G3739] was known [G1110] to the [G3588] chief priest , and [G2532] he spoke [G2036] with the [G3588] doorkeeper [G2377], and [G2532] she brought in [G1521] the [G3588] Peter.
17: Says [G3004] then [G3767] the [G3588] maidservant [G3814] the [G3588] doorkeeper [G2377] the [G3588] to Peter, not [G3361] also [G2532] you [G1473] of [G1537] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] Are the [G3588] of this man [G3778]? That one says [G3004][G1565], I am not [G3756].
18: were standing [G2476] And [G1161] the [G3588] servants [G1401] and [G2532] of the [G3588]ficers [G5257], a charcoal bed having made [G4160]; for [G3754] it was chilly [G5592]. And [G2532] they were heating themselves [G2328]. was And [G1161] with [G3326] them [G1473] the [G3588] Peter standing [G2476], and [G2532] heating himself [G2328].
19: Then the [G3588][G3767] chief priest asked [G2065] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) concerning [G4012] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473], and [G2532] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] his teaching [G1322][G1473].
20: answered to him [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), I [G1473] in an open manner [G3954] spoke [G2980] to the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889]; I [G1473] at all times [G3842] taught [G1321] in [G1722] the [G3588] synagogue [G4864], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] temple [G2413], where [G3699] at all times [G3842] the [G3588] Jews come together [G4905]; and [G2532] in [G1722] secret [G2927] I spoke [G2980] nothing [G3762].
21: Why [G5100] do you [G1473] ask [G1905]? Ask [G1905] the [G3588] [ones] hearing what [G5100] I spoke [G2980] to them [G1473]! Look [here]! [G2396] these [G3778] know [G1492] what [G3739] I said [G2036][G1473].
22: these [things] [G3778] And [G1161] in of him '[G1473] having said [G2036], one [G1520] of of the [G3588]ficers [G5257] standing by [G3936] gave [G1325] a slap [G4475] the [G3588] to Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), having said [G2036], Thus [G3779] you answer to the [G3588] chief priest ?
23: responded to him [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), If [G1487] ill [G2560] I have spoken [G2980], testify [G3140] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] bad [G2556]; but if [G1487][G1161] well [G2573], why [G5100] do you flay at me [G1473][G1194]?
24: sent him [G1473] the [G3588] Annas] being bound [G1210] to [G4314] Caiaphas the [G3588] chief priest .
25: was And [G1161] Simon Peter] standing [G2476] and [G2532] heating himself [G2328]. Then one said [G2036][G3767] to him [G1473], not [G3361] also [G2532] you [G1473] of [G1537] the [G3588] his trainees '[G3101][G1473] are ? That one denied [G1565], and [G2532] said [G2036], I am not [G3756].
26: Says [G3004] one [G1520] of [G1537] the [G3588] servants [G1401] of the [G3588] chief priest , being a relative [G4773] of whom [G3739] Peter cut off the [G3588] ear [G5621], Did I not [G3756][G1473] see you [G1473][G1492] in [G1722] the [G3588] garden [G2779] with [G3326] him [G1473]?
27: Then again [G3825][G3767] Peter denied the [G3588]; and [G2532] immediately [G2112] a rooster called out [G5455].
28: Then they conveyed '[G3767] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) from the [G3588] Caiaphas unto [G1519] the [G3588] praetorium [G4232]. And it was [G1161] morning [G4404]; and [G2532] they [G1473] did not [G3756] enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] praetorium [G4232], that [G2443] they should not be defiled [G3361][G3392]; but that [G2443] they should eat [G2068] the [G3588] passover [G3957].
29: Then came forth [G1831][G3767] the [G3588] Pilate to [G4314] them [G1473], and [G2532] said [G2036], What [G5100] charge [G2724] do you bring [G5342] against [G2596] the [G3588] this man [G3778]?
30: They answered and [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473], If not [G1508] was this one [G3778] doing evil [G2555], would not [G3756] to you [G1473] we have delivered him up [G3860][G1473].
31: Then said [G2036][G3767] Pilate to them [G1473] the [G3588], take [G2983] him [G1473] You [G1473], and [G2532] according to [G2596] the [G3588] your law [G3551][G1473] judge [G2919] him [G1473]! said [G2036] Then [G3767] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Jews], To us [G1473] it is not [G3756] allowed [G1832] to kill anyone [G3762];
32: that [G2443] the [G3588] word [G3056] of the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) should be fulfilled [G4137] which [G3739] he spoke [G2036] signifying [G4591] by what [G4169] death [G2288] he was about [G3195] to die .
33: entered [G1525] then [G3767] into [G1519] the [G3588] praetorium [G4232] again [G3825] the [G3588] Pilate]. And [G2532] he called [G5455] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), and [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473], Are you [G1473] the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Jews?
34: answered to him [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), From yourself [G1438] do you [G1473] say this [G3778][G3004], or [G2228] others spoke to you [G1473][G2036] concerning [G4012] me [G1473]?
35: Pilate answered the [G3588], Much less [G3385] I [G1473] a Jew am ; the [G3588] tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] the [G3588] your [G4674] and [G2532] the [G3588] chief priests delivered [G3860] you [G1473] to me [G1473]. What [G5100] did you do [G4160]?
36: Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) answered the [G3588], the [G3588] government ' the [G3588] My [G1699] not [G3756] is of [G1537] the [G3588] this arrangement '[G2889][G3778]. If [G1487] of [G1537] the [G3588] this arrangement '[G2889][G3778] was the [G3588] government ' the [G3588] my [G1699], the [G3588] officers [G5257] would the [G3588] my [G1699] have been struggling that [G2443] I should not [G3361] be delivered up [G3860] to the [G3588] Jews. 37: Then said [G2036][G3767] Pilate to him [G1473] the [G3588], Then [G3766] a king you are [G1473]? Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) answered the [G3588], You [G1473] say [it [G3004], for [G3754] a king am I [G1473]. I [G1473] for [G1519] this [G3778] have been born [G1080], and [G2532] for [G1519] this [G3778] I have come [G2064] into [G1519] the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889], that [G2443] I should testify [G3140] to the [G3588] truth . Every [one [G3956] the [G3588] being of [G1537] the [G3588] truth hears my [G1473] the [G3588] voice [G5456].
38: says [G3004] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Pilate], What [G5100] is truth ? And [G2532] this [G3778] having said [G2036], again [G3825] he came forth [G1831] to [G4314] the [G3588] Jews, and [G2532] says [G3004] to them [G1473], I [G1473] not one [G3762] fault find [G2147] in [G1722] him [G1473].
39: But it is [G1161] a custom [G4914] with you [G1473] that [G2443] one [G1520] to you [G1473] I should loosen at [G1722] the [G3588] passover [G3957]. Do you want [G1014] then [G3767] I should loose to you [G1473] the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Jews?
40: They cried out [G2905] then [G3767] again [G3825], all [G3956] saying [G3004], Not [G3361] this one [G3778], but the [G3588] Barabbas; was and [G1161] the [G3588] Barabbas] a robber [G3027].
