Acts Chapter 10 - | Early Church Bible

1: man And [G1161] a certain [G5100] was there in [G1722] Caesarea, by name [G3686] Cornelius, a centurion [G1543] of [G1537] cohort [G4686] the [G3588] being called [G2564], Italic;
2: pious [G2152] and [G2532] fearing [G5399] the [G3588] God '[G2316] with [G4862] all [G3956] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], both performing [G4160][G5037] charity [G1654] much [G4183] to the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] beseeching [G1189] the [G3588] God '[G2316] always [G1275].
3: He looked [at] [G1492] in [G1722] a vision [G3705] openly [G5320] about [G5616] hour [G5610] ninth [G1766] of the [G3588] day [G2250] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] entering [G1525] to [G4314] him [G1473], and [G2532] having said [G2036] to him [G1473], Cornelius.
4: the [G3588] And [G1161] gazing upon him [G1473], and [G2532] thrown into fear [G1719] becoming [G1096], he said [G2036], What [G5100] is it , O Boss '[G2962]? And he said [G2036][G1161] to him [G1473], the [G3588] Your prayers [G4335][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your charity [G1654][G1473] went up for [G1519] a memorial [G3422] before [G1799] the [G3588] God '[G2316].
5: And [G2532] now [G3568] send forth [G3992] unto [G1519] Joppa men , and [G2532] fetch [G3343] Simon, who [G3739] is called [G1941] Peter.
6: This one [G3778] lodges [G3579] with [G3844] a certain [G5100] Simon, a tanner [G1038], whose [G3739] house is [G3614] by [G3844] sea [G2281]; this one [G3778] will tell [G2980] to you [G1473] what [G5100] is necessary for you [G1473] to do [G4160].
7: And when [G5613][G1161] departed the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' the [G3588] speaking [G2980] the [G3588] to Cornelius], having called [G5455] two [G1417] of the [G3588] his servants [G3610][G1473], and [G2532] soldier [G4757] a pious [G2152] of the [G3588] [ones] attending constantly [G4342] to him [G1473],
8: and [G2532] having described [G1834] to them [G1473] all things , he sent them [G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588] Joppa.
9: And the [G3588][G1161] next day [G1887], as those are journeying [G3596][G1565] and [G2532] the [G3588] city [G4172] approaching [G1448], Peter went up upon [G1909] the [G3588] roof [G1430] to pray [G4336] around [G4012] hour [G5610] sixth [G1622].
10: And he became [G1096][G1161] hungry [G4361], and [G2532] wanted [G2309] to taste [G1089]. were making preparations [G3903] And [G1161] as those [G1565], there fell [G1968] upon [G1909] him [G1473] a change of state [G1611].
11: And [G2532] he viewed [G2334] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] being opened ; and [G2532] there descending [G2597] unto [G1909] him [G1473] a certain item [G4632][G5100] as [G5613] piece of cloth [G3607] a great [G3173], four [G5064] corners being tied [G1210], and [G2532] being lowered [G2524] unto [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093];
12: in [G1722] which [G3739] were [G5224] all [G3956] the [G3588] four-footed [creatures [G5074] of the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] the [G3588] wild beasts [G2342], and [G2532] the [G3588] reptiles [G2062], and [G2532] the [G3588] birds [G4071] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772].
13: And [G2532] there came [G1096] a voice [G5456] to [G4314] him [G1473], Rise up , Peter, sacrifice [G2380] and [G2532] eat [G2068]!
14: the [G3588] And [G1161] Peter said [G2036], By no means [G3365], O Boss '[G2962]; for [G3754] at no time [G3763] ate I [G2068] anything [G3956] common [G2839] or [G2228] unclean .
15: And [G2532] a voice [G5456] again [G3825] a second [time] [G1537][G1208] [came] to [G4314] him [G1473], What [G3739] the [G3588] God '[G2316] cleansed [G2511] you [are] not [G1473][G3361] to make unclean [G2840]!
16: And this [G3778][G1161] happened [G1096] unto [G1909] three [times [G5151]. And [G2532] again [G3825] was taken up the [G3588] item [G4632] into [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772].
17: And as [G5613][G1161] within [G1722] himself [G1438] was perplexed [G1280] the [G3588] Peter] what [G5100] ever may be the [G3588] vision [G3705] which [G3739] he looked [at] [G1492], that [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] men , the [G3588] [ones] being sent from the [G3588] Cornelius having inquired [G1331] about the [G3588] house [G3614] of Simon, stood [G2186] at [G1909] the [G3588] vestibule [G4440].
18: And [G2532] calling out [G5455] they inquired [G4441], Does [G1487] Simon, the [G3588] [one] being called [G1941] Peter, here [G1759] lodge [G3579]?
19: the [G3588] And [G1161] Peter pondering [G1760] over [G4012] the [G3588] vision [G3705], said [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151], look [G2400], men three [G5140] seek [G2212] you [G1473];
20: and having risen up go down [G2597] and [G2532] go [G4198] with [G4862] them [G1473]! nothing [G3367] examining [G1252], because [G1360] I [G1473] have sent them [G1473].
21: having gone down [G2597] And [G1161] Peter] to [G4314] the [G3588] men , said [G2036], look [G2400], I am [G1473] whom [G3739] you seek [G2212]. What [G5100] [is] the [G3588] reason for [G1223] which [G3739] you are at hand [G3918]?
22: And they the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036], Cornelius, a centurion [G1543], man a righteous [G1342] and [G2532] one fearing [G5399] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and borne witness [G3140][G5037] by [G5259] entire [G3650] the [G3588] tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] of the [G3588] Jews, received a divine message [G5537] by [G5259] word-conveyer (messenger) ' a pure ' to fetch [G3343] you [G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] to hear words [G4487] from [G3844] you [G1473].
23: Then having invited [G1528][G3767] them [G1473], he lodged [them [G3579]. And the [G3588][G1161] next day [G1887] the [G3588] Peter went forth [G1831] with [G4862] them [G1473]; and [G2532] certain ones [G5100] of the [G3588] brothers the [G3588] from Joppa went together [G4905] with him [G1473].
24: And [G2532] the [G3588] next day [G1887] they entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] Caesarea. the [G3588] And [G1161] Cornelius was expecting [G4328] them [G1473], having called together [G4779] the [G3588] his relatives [G4773][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] important friends [G5384].
25: And as [G5613][G1161] it came to pass at [G1096] Peter entering [G1525] the [G3588], having met [G4876] him [G1473], the [G3588] Cornelius, having fallen [G4098] at [G1909] the [G3588] feet [G4228], did obeisance [G4352].
26: the [G3588] But [G1161] Peter raised [G1453] him [G1473], saying [G3004], Rise up ! I also [G2504] myself [G1473] am a man .
27: And [G2532] accompanying [G4926] him [G1473], he entered [G1525] and [G2532] found [G2147] were come together [G4905] many [G4183].
28: And he said [G5346][G5037] to [G4314] them [G1473], You [G1473] know [G1987] that [G5613] it is unlawful [for] a man , a Jew, to join [G2853] or [G2228] approach [G4334] a philistine . And [G2532] to me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316] showed [G1166] not one [G3367] common [G2839] or [G2228] unclean to call [G3004] man .
29: Therefore [G1352] also [G2532] indisputably I came [G2064] having been fetched [G3343]. I inquire [G4441] then [G3767] to what [G5100] word '[G3056] you fetched [G3343] me [G1473]?
30: And [G2532] the [G3588] Cornelius said [G5346], From four [G5067] days ago [G2250] until [G3360] this [G3778] the [G3588] hour [G5610] I was fasting [G3522], and [G2532] the [G3588] ninth [G1766] hour [G5610] praying [G4336] in [G1722] the [G3588] my house [G3624][G1473]; and [G2532] look [G2400], a man stood [G2476] before [G1799] me [G1473] in [G1722] attire [G2066] bright [G2986].
31: And [G2532] he says [G5346], Cornelius, was listened to [G1522] your [G1473] the [G3588] prayer [G4335], and [G2532] the [G3588] your [gifts] of charity [G1654][G1473] were remembered [G3403] before [G1799] the [G3588] God '[G2316].
32: Send forth [G3992] then [G3767] unto [G1519] Joppa, and [G2532] call for [G3333] Simon who [G3739] is called [G1941] Peter! this one [G3778] lodges [G3579] in [G1722] house [G3614] of Simon, a tanner [G1038], by [G3844] sea [G2281]; who [G3739], having come [G3854], will speak [G2980] to you [G1473].
33: Immediately [G1824] then [G3767] I sent [G3992] to [G4314] you [G1473]; and you [G1473][G5037] well [G2573] did [G4160] having come [G3854]. Now [G3568] then [G3767], all [G3956] we [G1473] before [G1799] the [G3588] God '[G2316] are at hand [G3918] to hear all [G3956] the [things] [G3588] assigned [G4367] to you [G1473] by [G5259] the [G3588] God '[G2316].
34: having opened And [G1161] Peter the [G3588] his mouth [G4750][G1473], said [G2036], In [G1909] truth I am overtaken [G2638] that [G3754] not [G3756] is one who discriminates [G4381] the [G3588] God '[G2316],
35: but in [G1722] every [G3956] tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] the [G3588] fearing [G5399] him [G1473], and [G2532] practicing [G2038] righteousness [G1343], acceptable [G1184] to him [G1473] it is .
36: The [G3588] word [G3056] which [G3739] he sent to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel, good-word-conveying (evangelizing) '[G2097], peace [G1515] through [G1223] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) Anointed [G5547], this one [G3778] is Lord of all [G3956][G2962].
37: You [G1473] know [G1492] the [G3588] taking place [G1096] thing [G4487] in [G2596] all [G3650] the [G3588] Judea, beginning from the [G3588] Galilee, after [G3326] the [G3588] submergence which [G3739] John proclaimed [G2784].
38: Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), the [G3588] [one] from Nazareth, how [G5613] anointed [G5548] him [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] in pure ' and [G2532] power [G1411]; who [G3739] went through [G1330] benefiting [G2109] and [G2532] healing [G2390] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] being overpowered [G2616] by [G5259] the [G3588] devil [G1228]; for [G3754] the [G3588] God '[G2316] was with [G3326] him [G1473].
39: And [G2532] we [G1473] are witnesses [G3144] of all [G3956] which [G3739] he did [G4160] both in [G1722][G5037] the [G3588] region [G5561] of the [G3588] Jews, and [G2532] in [G1722] Jerusalem; whom [G3739] they did away with by hanging [G2910] upon [G1909] a tree [G3586].
40: This one [G3778] the [G3588] God '[G2316] raised up [G1453] in the [G3588] third [G5154] day [G2250], and [G2532] appointed [G1325] him [G1473] apparent [G1717] to become [G1096];
41: not [G3756] to all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], but to witnesses [G3144], to the [G3588] [ones] being inaugurated [G4401] by [G5259] the [G3588] God '[G2316], to us [G1473] who [G3748] ate with [G4906] and [G2532] drank with [G4844] him [G1473] after [G3326] the [G3588] his rising up [G1473] from [G1537] dead [G3498].
42: And [G2532] he exhorted [G3853] us [G1473] to proclaim [G2784] to the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] to testify [G1263] that [G3754] he [G1473] is the [G3588] [one] being confirmed [G3724] by [G5259] the [G3588] God '[G2316] [as] judge [G2923] of living [G2198] and [G2532] dead [G3498].
43: To him [G3778] all [G3956] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] bear witness [G3140], a release of sins to receive [G2983] through [G1223] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473] for every [one [G3956] the [G3588] trusting '[G4100] in [G1519] him [G1473].
44: While [G2089] [was] speaking [G2980] the [G3588] Peter the [G3588]se things [G4487][G3778], fell [G1968] the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] of the [G3588] [one] pure ' upon [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] hearing the [G3588] word [G3056].
45: And [G2532] were amazed [G1839] of the [G3588] [G1537] circumcision [G4061] believers [G4103], as many as [G3745] came with [G4905] the [G3588] Peter, that [G3754] also [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] the [G3588] present [G1431] of the [G3588] pure ' wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] has been poured out [G1632].
46: For they heard [G1063] them [G1473] speaking [G2980] languages [G1100], and [G2532] magnifying [G3170] the [G3588] God '[G2316]. Then [G5119] Peter responded the [G3588],
47: will [G3385] the [G3588] water [G5204] to be restrained [G2967] be able [G1410] to anyone [G5100] the [G3588] to not [G3361] be submerged of these [G3778], who [G3748] the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] of the [G3588] [one] pure ' received [G2983] as [G2531] also [G2532] we [G1473]?
48: And he assigned [G4367][G5037] them [G1473] to be submerged in [G1722] the [G3588] name [G3686] of the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]. Then [G5119] they asked [G2065] him [G1473] to remain [G1961] some days [G2250][G5100].
