1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] the [G3588] dying of Saul, that [G2532] David returned [from] striking [G5180] the [G3588] Amalek. And [G2532] David sat down [G2523] in [G1722] Ziklag days [G2250] two [G1417].
2: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in the [G3588] day [G2250] the [G3588] third [G5154], that [G2532] look [G2400], a man came [G2064] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] camp [G3925] of the [G3588] people [G2992] of Saul, and [G2532] the [G3588] his clothes [G2440][G1473] were torn up [G1284], and [G2532] land '[G1093] [was] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473]. And [G2532] it happened [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] his entering [G1525][G1473] to [G4314] David, that [G2532] he fell [G4098] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093] and [G2532] did obeisance to [G4352] him [G1473].
3: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] David], From what place [G4159] do you come [G1473][G3854]? And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], From out of [G1537] the [G3588] camp [G3925] of Israel I have come through safe [G1295].
4: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] David], What [G5100] the [G3588] word [G3056] [is] this [G3778]? Report to me [G1473]! And [G2532] he said [G2036], have fled [G5343] the [G3588] people [G2992] from [G1537] the [G3588] battle [G4171], and [G2532] have fallen [G4098] many [G4183] of [G1537] the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] they died ; and [G2532] Saul and [G2532] Jonathan the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473] died .
5: And [G2532] David said [G2036] to the [G3588] servant-lad [G3808], In the [G3588] reporting it [G1473], how [G4459] do you know [G1492] that [G3754] have died [G2348] Saul and [G2532] Jonathan the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473]?
6: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] servant-lad [G3808] the [G3588] reporting to him [G1473], By chance I fell [G4045] among [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] of the [G3588] Giboa; and [G2532] look [G2400], Saul was stayed [G1991] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his spear [G1473]; and [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] chariots and [G2532] the [G3588] commanders of the cavalry joined together against him [G1473].
7: And [G2532] he looked [G1914] behind [G1909] the [G3588][G3694] him [G1473], and [G2532] he looked [at] [G1492] me [G1473], and [G2532] he called [G2564] me [G1473]. And [G2532] I said [G2036], look [G2400], [it is] I [G1473].
8: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to me [G1473], Who [G5100] are you [G1473]? And [G2532] I said [G2036], an Amalekite I [G1473] am .
9: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] me [G1473], Stand [G2186] indeed [G1211] above [G1883] me [G1473], and [G2532] put me to death [G2289][G1473]! for [G3754] constrained [G2722] me [G1473] darkness [G4655] an awful , for [G2532] [is] yet [G2089] the [G3588] my life [G5590][G1473] in [G1722] me [G1473].
10: And [G2532] I stood [G2186] over [G1909] him [G1473], and [G2532] put him to death [G2289][G1473], for [G3754] I knew [G1492] that [G3754] he would not [G3756] live [G2198] after [G3326] the [G3588] he fell [G4098][G1473]. And [G2532] I took [G2983] the [G3588] crown , the [G3588] [one] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] armlet , the [G3588] [one] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his arm [G1023][G1473], and [G2532] I brought [G5342] them [G1473] [to the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] here [G5602].
11: And [G2532] David took hold [G2902] of the [G3588] his clothes [G2440][G1473], and [G2532] tore [G1284] them [G1473]; and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] men , the [G3588] [ones] with [G3326] him [G1473].
12: And [G2532] they beat their chests [G2875] and [G2532] wept [G2799], and [G2532] fasted [G3522] until [G2193] evening over [G1909] Saul, and [G2532] over [G1909] Jonathan the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473], and [G2532] over [G1909] the [G3588] people [G2992] of Judah, and [G2532] over [G1909] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Israel, because [G3754] they were struck [G4141] by [G1722] broadsword [G4501].
13: And [G2532] David said [G2036] to the [G3588] servant-lad [G3808], the [G3588] [one] reporting to him [G1473], From what place [G4159] are you [G1473]? And [G2532] he said [G2036], son [G5207] man sojourner [G3941] of an Amalekite I [G1473] am .
14: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] David], How [is it [G4459] you do not [G3756] fear [G5399] to bear [G2018] your hand [G5495][G1473] to utterly destroy [G1311] the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547] of Boss '[G2962]?
15: And [G2532] David called [G2564] one [G1520] of the [G3588] his servant-lads [G3808][G1473], and [G2532] he said [G2036], Coming forward [G4334], you meet him [G1473]! And [G2532] he struck [G3960] him [G1473], and [G2532] he died .
16: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] David], the [G3588] Your blood [G1473] [be] upon [G1909] the [G3588] your head [G2776][G1473], for [G3754] the [G3588] your mouth [G4750][G1473] answered against [G2596] you [G1473], saying [G3004], I [G1473] put to death [G2289] the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547] of Boss '[G2962].
17: And [G2532] David lamented [G2354] the [G3588] this lamentation [G2355][G3778] over [G1909] Saul, and [G2532] over [G1909] Jonathan the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473].
18: And [G2532] he spoke [G2036] the [G3588] to teach [G1321] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Judah. Look [G2400], it is written [G1125] upon [G1909] scroll of the [G3588] upright .
19: And [G2532] he said [G2036], Set up a stone monument , O Israel, for [G5228] the [G3588] [ones] having died [G2348] upon [G1909] the [G3588] your heights [G5311][G1473] -- being slain ! How [G4459] are fallen [G4098] mighty ones [G1415].
20: Do not [G3361] announce it in [G1722] Gath, and [G2532] do not [G3361] good-word-convey '[G2097] it in [G1722] the [G3588] streets [G1841] of Ashkelon! lest at any time [G3379] should be glad [G2165] daughters [G2364] of Philistines , lest at any time [G3379] should jump much daughters [G2364] of the [G3588] uncircumcised .
21: O raised-places (mountains) '[G3735] the [G3588] in [G1722] Gilboa, may there not [G3361] fall [G4098] upon [G1909] you [G1473] neither [G3383] dew nor [G3383] rain [G5205]; and [G2532] O fields of first-fruits , for [G3754] there [G1563] was loathed [G4360] shield [G2375] of mighty ones [G1415], shield [G2375] of Saul was not [G3756] anointed [G5548] with [G1722] oil [G1637].
22: From blood of slain , and [G2532] from fat of mighty ones [G1415], bow [G5115] of Jonathan did not [G3756] return empty [G2756] to [G1519] the [G3588] rear [G3694]; and [G2532] broadsword [G4501] of Saul did not [G3756] return empty [G2756].
23: Saul and [G2532] Jonathan, the [G3588] [ones] being loved , and [G2532] beautiful ones [G5611]; not [G3756] parted [G1316] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir life [G2222][G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir death [G2288][G1473] they were not [G3756] parted [G1316]. above [G5228] eagles Nimble , and [G2532] above [G5228] lions [G3023] strong [G1415].
24: Daughters [G2364] of Israel, weep [G2799] over [G1909] Saul! the [G3588] [one] dressing [G1737] you [G1473] with scarlet [apparel [G2847], with [G3326] your arrangement '[G2889][G1473]; the [G3588] [one] bearing arrangement '[G2889] a golden [G5552] for [G1909] the [G3588] your clothes [G2441][G1473].
25: How [G4459] fell [G4098] mighty ones [G1415] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of battle [G4171], O Jonathan, upon [G1909] the [G3588] your heights [G5311][G1473] you were slain [G5135].
26: I ache over [G1909] you [G1473], Jonathan, O my brother [G1473]. You were beautiful to me [G1473], exceedingly [G4970]; caused wonder the [G3588] your affection [G1473] to me [G1473] -- above [G5228] affection of women [G1135].
27: O how [G4459] fell [G4098] mighty ones [G1415], and [G2532] perished weapons [G4632] of warfare .
