1: And [G2532] there was [G1096] man one [G1520] from [G1537] Ramathaim Zophim of [G1537] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Ephraim, and [G2532] name [G3686] of him [G1473] [was] Elkanah, son [G5207] of Jeroham, son [G5207] of Elihu, son [G5207] of Tohu, son [G5207] Zuph from [G1537] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Ephraim.
2: And [G2532] to this one [was [G3778] two [G1417] wives [G1135]; name [G3686] to the [G3588] [one] [G1520] [was] Hannah, and [G2532] name [G3686] to the [G3588] second [G1208] [was] Peninnah. And [G2532] there was the [G3588] to Peninnah a child [G3813], and [G2532] the [G3588] to Hannah no [G3756] there was child [G3813].
3: And [G2532] went up the [G3588] man that [G1565] from [G1537] days [G2250] to [G1519] days [G2250] from out of [G1537] his city [G4172][G1473] of [G1537] Ramathaim to do obeisance [G4352] and [G2532] to sacrifice [G2380] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] of Hosts [G4519] in [G1722] Shiloh. And [G2532] there [G1563] was Eli and [G2532] the [G3588] two [G1417] sons [G5207] of him '[G1473], Hophni and [G2532] Phinehas, priests [G2409] of the [G3588] Boss '[G2962].
4: And [G2532] came to pass [G1096] a day [G2250] that [G2532] Elkanah sacrificed [G2380], and [G2532] he gave [G1325] the [G3588] to Peninnah his wife [G1135][G1473], and [G2532] to all [G3956] the [G3588] her sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] [to the [G3588] her daughters [G2364][G1473], portions [G3310].
5: And [G2532] the [G3588] to Hannah he gave [G1325] portion [G3310] one [G1520], for [G3754] no [G3756] there was child to her [G1473][G3813]; except [G4133] that [G3754] the [G3588] loved Hannah Elkanah] above [G5228] Peninnah. But [G2532] Boss '[G2962] locked the [matter the [G3588] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] her womb [G3388][G1473].
6: And [G2532] provoked her to anger [G3949][G1473] the [G3588] her rival [G1473], and [G2532] even [G1065] a provocation to anger [G3950] because of [G1223] the [G3588] treating her with contempt [G1848][G1473], for [G3754] BOSS closed up [G4788][G2962] the [matters the [G3588] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] her womb [G3388][G1473] the [G3588] to not [G3361] give [G1325] to her [G1473] a child [G3813].
7: Thus [G3779] she did [G4160] year [G1763] by [G2596] year [G1763] in [G1722] the [G3588] her going up [G1473] unto [G1519] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962]; and [G2532] she was depressed , and [G2532] she wept [G2799], and [G2532] did not [G3756] eat [G2068].
8: And [G2532] said [G2036] to her [G1473] Elkanah the [G3588] her husband [G1473], Hannah, what [G5100] is it to you [G1473] that [G3754] you weep [G2799]? And [G2532] why [G2444] do you not [G3756] eat [G2068]? And [G2532] why does [G2444] beat [G5180] you [G1473] the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473]? not [G3756] good Am I [G1473] to you [G1473] over [G5228] ten [G1176] children [G5043]?
9: And [G2532] Hannah rose up after [G3326] the [G3588]ir eating [G2068][G1473] in [G1722] Shiloh, and [G2532] after [G3326] the [G3588] drinking [G4095]. And [G2532] Eli the [G3588] priest [G2409] sat [G2521] upon [G1909] the [G3588] chair at [G1909] the [G3588] doorposts of temple [G3485] of Boss '[G2962].
10: And [G2532] she [G1473] was in severe pain of soul [G5590], and [G2532] she prayed [G4336] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] with weeping [G2799] she wept [G2799].
11: And [G2532] she vowed [G2172] a vow [G2171], saying [G3004], O Boss '[G2962] of hosts [G4519], if [G1437] looking [G1914] you should look [G1914] upon [G1909] the [G3588] humiliation [G5014] of the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473], and [G2532] should remember [G3403] me [G1473], and [G2532] should not forget [G3361][G1950] the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473], and [G2532] should give [G1325] [to the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473] seed [G4690] of a male , then [G2532] I will put [G1325] him [G1473] before [G1799] you [G1473], dedicated until [G2193] day [G2250] of his death [G2288][G1473]. And [G2532] an iron [razor [G4604] will not [G3756] go up upon [G1909] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473].
12: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G3753] she multiplied [G4129] praying [G4336] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962], that [G2532] Eli the [G3588] priest [G2409] watched [G5442] the [G3588] her mouth [G4750][G1473].
13: And [G2532] she [G1473] spoke [G2980] in [G1722] the [G3588] her heart [G2588][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] her lips [G5491][G1473] moved [G2795], but [G2532] her voice [G5456][G1473] was not [G3756] heard . And [G2532] considered [G3049] her [G1473] Eli] to [G1519] be intoxicated [G3184].
14: And [G2532] said [G2036] to her [G1473] Eli], Until [G2193] when [G4219] will you be intoxicated [G3184]? Remove [G4014] the [G3588] your wine [G3631][G1473]!
15: And [G2532] Hannah answered and [G2532] said [G2036], No [G3780], O boss [G2962], a woman [G1135] with [G1722] a hard [G4642] day [G2250] I [G1473] am , and [G2532] wine [G3631] and [G2532] strong drink I have not [G3756] drunk [G4095], and [G2532] I pour out [G1632] the [G3588] soul [G5590] of me [G1473] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962].
16: You should not [G3361] grant [G1325] the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473] for [G1519] daughter [G2364] mischievous [G3061]. For [G3754] from [G1537] amount [G4128] of my meditation [G1473], and [G2532] from [G1537] amount [G4128] of my depression , I have been stretched out [G1614] until [G2193] the [G3588] present [G3568].
17: And [G2532] Eli answered and [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] her [G1473], Go [G4198] in [G1519] peace [G1515]! the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel will give [G1325] to you [G1473] all [G3956] your request [G1473] which [G3739] you asked of [G3844] him [G1473].
18: And she the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036], found [G2147] the [G3588] Your maidservant [G1399][G1473] favor [G5484] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473]. And [G2532] went [G4198] the [G3588] woman [G1135] the [G3588] her way [G3598][G1473], and [G2532] ate [G2068] with [G3326] the [G3588] her husband [G1473], and [G2532] drank [G4095], and [G2532] the [G3588] her face [G4383][G1473] was not downcast [G3756] any longer [G2089].
19: And [G2532] they rose early [G3719] in the morning [G4404], and [G2532] did obeisance [G4352] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] they went [G4198] the [G3588]ir way [G3598][G1473]. And [G2532] Elkanah entered [G1525] unto [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473] in [G1519] Ramah, and [G2532] he knew [G1097] Hannah his wife [G1135][G1473]; and [G2532] remembered [G3403] her [G1473] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] she conceived [G4815].
20: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in the [G3588] time [G2540] of the [G3588] days [G2250], that [G2532] Hannah bore [G5088] a son [G5207], and [G2532] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473] Samuel, saying [G3004] that [G3754], From [G3844] Boss '[G2962] almighty [G3841] I asked him [G1473].
21: And [G2532] went up the [G3588] man Elkanah], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], to sacrifice [G2380] in [G1722] Shiloh, for the [G3588] sacrifice [G2378] of the [G3588] days [G2250], and [G2532] the [G3588] his vows [G2171][G1473].
22: And [G2532] Hannah did not [G3756] go up with [G3326] him [G1473], for [G3754] she said [G2036] to the [G3588] her husband [G1473], [I will wait] until [G2193] the [G3588] going up [of] the [G3588] boy [G3808], whenever [G1437] I should have weaned it [G1473], and [G2532] he will appear [G3708] the [G3588] in front [G4383] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he will settle [G2521] there [G1563] unto [G2193] age (term) `.
23: And [G2532] said [G2036] to her [G1473] Elkanah the [G3588] her husband [G1473], You do [G4160] the [G3588] good [thing] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473], sit [G2521] until [G2193] whenever you should wean it [G1473]! Only [G4133] may BOSS establish [G2476][G2962] the [thing] [G3588] coming forth [G1831] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] your mouth [G4750][G1473]. And [G2532] sat down [G2523] the [G3588] woman [G1135], and [G2532] nursed [G2337] the [G3588] her son [G5207][G1473] until [G2193] whenever she weaned him [G1473].
24: And [G2532] she went up with [G3326] him [G1473] unto [G1519] Shiloh with [G1722] a calf [G3448] being three years old , and [G2532] an ephah of fine flour [G4585], and [G2532] a skin flask of wine [G3631]. And [G2532] she entered [G1525] into [G1519] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962] in [G1722] Shiloh, and [G2532] the [G3588] boy [G3808] with [G3326] them [G1473].
25: And [G2532] they led [him [G4317] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] they slew [G4969] the [G3588] calf [G3448]. And [G2532] brought it [G4317] Hannah the [G3588] mother [G3384] of the [G3588] boy [G3808] to [G4314] Eli.
26: And [G2532] she said [G2036], By [G1722] me [G1473], O boss [G2962], should live [G2198] the [G3588] your soul [G5590][G1473]; I [am [G1473] the [G3588] woman [G1135] the [G3588] standing [G2525] before [G1799] you [G1473] with [G3326] you [G1473] while [G1722] the [G3588] praying [G4336] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962].
27: Over [G5228] the [G3588] this boy [G3808][G3778] I prayed [G4336], and [G2532] gave [G1325] to me [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] my request [G1473] which [G3739] I asked of [G3844] him [G1473].
28: And I [G2504] lend him [G1473] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] which [G3739] he should live [G2198] for use [G5540] by the [G3588] Boss '[G2962].
