1 Kings Chapter 11 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] the [G3588] king Solomon was fond of women , and [G2532] he took [G2983] wives [G1135] alien , and [G2532] the [G3588] daughter [G2364] of Pharaoh, and [G2532] Moabitish, and [G2532] Ammonitish, and [G2532] Edomites, and [G2532] Sidonians, and [G2532] Hittites.
2: of [G1537] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] which [G3739] BOSS forbade [G2962] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel, saying [G3004], You will not [G3756] enter [G1525] to [G1519] them [G1473], and [G2532] they [G1473] will not [G3756] enter [G1525] to [G1519] you [G1473]; that [G2443] they should not turn aside [G3361][G1578] the [G3588] your hearts [G2588][G1473] after [G3694] the [G3588]ir idols [G1497][G1473] -- for [G1519] of them [G1473] Solomon cleaved [G2853] the [G3588] to love .
3: And [G2532] there were to him [G1473] wives [G1135] [being female] rulers seven hundred , and [G2532] concubines three hundred [G5145]. And [G2532] inclined away [G2827] the [G3588] his wives [G1135][G1473] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473].
4: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] a time [G2540] of old age [G1094] of Solomon, the [G3588] his wives [G1135][G1473] turned aside [G1578] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473] after [G3694] gods '[G2316] other [G2087]. And [G2532] was not [G3756] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473] perfect [G5046] with [G3326] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of him [G1473], as [was [G2531] the [G3588] heart [G2588] of David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473].
5: And [G2532] Solomon went [G4198] after [G3694] the [G3588] Ashtoreth god [G2316] of Sidonians, and [G2532] after [G3694] the [G3588] Milcom abomination of Ammon.
6: And [G2532] Solomon did [G4160] the [G3588] evil [G4190] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] did not [G3756] go [G4198] after [G3694] Boss '[G2962] as [G5613] David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473].
7: Then [G5119] Solomon built [G3618] a high [place] [G5308] the [G3588] to Chemosh, idol [G1497] of Moab, in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] the [G3588] before [G2596][G4383] Jerusalem, and [G2532] to the [G3588] Molech idol [G1497] of sons [G5207] of Ammon.
8: And [G2532] thus [G3779] he did [G4160] for all [G3956] the [G3588] wives [G1135] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] alien , ones burning incense [G2370] and [G2532] sacrificing [G2380] [to the [G3588]ir idols [G1497][G1473].
9: And [G2532] BOSS was provoked to anger [G3710][G2962] at [G1909] Solomon, for [G3754] he turned aside [G1578] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473] from Boss '[G2962] God '[G2316] of Israel -- the [G3588] [one] appearing [G3708] to him [G1473] twice [G1364],
10: after [G2532] being given charge [G1781] to him [G1473], for [G5228] the [G3588] this word [G3056][G3778] the [G3588] thoroughly , to not [G3361] go [G4198] after [G3694] gods '[G2316] other [G2087]. And [G2532] he did not [G3756] guard [G5442] what [G3739] gave charge [G1781] to him [G1473] Boss '[G2962].
11: And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] Solomon, Because these [things] happened [G1096][G3778] with [G3326] you [G1473], and [G2532] you did not [G3756] guard [G5442] the [G3588] my commandments [G1785][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] orders of me [G1473], which [G3739] I gave charge [G1781] to you [G1473], in tearing [G1284] I will tear up [G1284] the [G3588] your government '[G1473] from out of [G1537] your hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] I will give [G1325] it [G1473] [to the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473].
12: Except [G4133] in [G1722] the [G3588] your days [G2250][G1473] I will not [G3756] do [G4160] them [G1473] on account of [G1223] David the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473] -- from out of [G1537] hand [G5495] of your son [G5207][G1473] I will take [G2983] it [G1473].
13: Except [G4133] entire [G3650] the [G3588] government ' in no way will I take [G2983]. chiefdom One [G1520] I will give [G1325] [to the [G3588] your son [G5207][G1473] because of [G1223] David the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473], and [G2532] because of [G1223] Jerusalem the [G3588] city [G4172] which [G3739] I chose [G1586].
14: And [G2532] BOSS raised up [G1453][G2962] an adversary [G4566] against the [G3588] Solomon, the [G3588] Hadad the [G3588] Edomite; from out of [G1537] the [G3588] seed [G4690] of the [G3588] government ' in [G1722] the [G3588] Edom.
15: And [G2532] it happened [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] David utterly destroying [G1842] the [G3588] Edom, in [G1722] the [G3588] going [G4198] of Joab ruler of the [G3588] military [G4756] to bury [G2290] the [G3588] slain , that [G2532] they smote [G2875] every [G3956] male in [G1722] the [G3588] Edom;
16: for [G3754] six [G1803] months [G3376] laid in wait there [G1563] Joab] and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel, until [G2193] of which [time] [G3739] he utterly destroyed [G1842] every [G3956] man of [G1537] the [G3588] Edom.
17: And [G2532] Hadad ran away , he [G1473] and [G2532] Edomite men of the [G3588] servants [G3816] of the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473] with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] they entered [G1525] into [G1519] Egypt. And [G2532] Hadad boy [G3808] [was] a small [G3397].
18: And [G2532] they rose up out of [G1537] Midian, and [G2532] came [G2064] into [G1519] Paran. And [G2532] they took [G2983] men with [G3326] themselves [G1438], and [G2532] they came [G2064] to [G4314] Pharaoh king of Egypt. And [G2532] Hadad entered [G1525] to [G4314] Pharaoh. And [G2532] he gave [G1325] to him [G1473] a house [G3624], and [G2532] bread loaves ordered [G1299] for him [G1473], and [G2532] land '[G1093] gave [G1325] to him [G1473].
19: And [G2532] Hadad found [G2147] favor [G5484] before [G1726] Pharaoh, exceedingly [G4970]. And [G2532] he gave [G1325] to him [G1473] a wife [G1135], sister of the [G3588] his wife [G1135][G1473] -- the [G3588] sister of Tahpenes the [G3588] older [G3173].
20: And [G2532] bore [G5088] to him [G1473] the [G3588] sister of Tahpenes], [to the [G3588] Hadad, the [G3588] Genubath her son [G5207][G1473]. And [G2532] nourished [G1625] him [G1473] Tahpenes] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] house [G3624] of Pharaoh. And [G2532] Genubath was in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Pharaoh in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Pharaoh.
21: And [G2532] Hadad heard in [G1722] Egypt that [G3754] David had gone to sleep [G2837] with [G3326] the [G3588] his fathers [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] that [G3754] had died [G2348] Joab the [G3588] ruler of the [G3588] military [G4756]. And [G2532] Hadad said [G2036] to [G4314] Pharaoh, Send [G1821] me [G1473], and [G2532] I will return unto [G1519] the [G3588] my land '[G1093][G1473].
22: And [G2532] Pharaoh said [G2036] [to the [G3588] Hadad, What [G5100] do you [G1473] lack [G1641] with [G3326] me [G1473], that [G3754] look [G2400], you [G1473] seek [G2212] to go forth into [G1519] the [G3588] your land '[G1093][G1473]? And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] Hadad], Not one thing [G3365], but [G3754] by sending [G1821] you will send [G1821] me [G1473].
23: And [G2532] God raised up [G1453][G2316] an adversary [G4566] against him [G1473], the [G3588] Rezon son [G5207] of Eliadah, who [G3778] fled [G5343] from Hadadezer king of Zobah, his boss [G2962][G1473].
24: And [G2532] were gathered together [G4867] against [G1909] him [G1473] men , and [G2532] he was [G3739] ruler of confederation , and [G2532] he first took the [G3588] Damascus, and [G2532] he sat down [G2523] in [G1722] it [G1473], and [G2532] he reigned in [G1722] Damascus.
25: And [G2532] there was an adversary [G4566] [to the [G3588] Israel all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of Solomon. This [G3778] is the [G3588] evil [G2549] which [G3739] Hadad did [G4160], and [G2532] oppressed against [G1909] Israel, and [G2532] he reigned in [G1722] land '[G1093] of Edom.
26: And [G2532] Jeroboam son [G5207] of Nebat the [G3588] Ephrathite from [G1537] the [G3588] Zereda, son [G5207] woman [G1135] of a widow [G5503], [was a] servant [G1401] of the [G3588] Solomon.
27: And [G2532] this [was [G3778] the [G3588] thing [G4229] he did [G4160] as [G5613] he lifted up [G1869] the [G3588] hand [G5495] against [G1909] the [G3588] king Solomon. And [G2532] the [G3588] king Solomon built [G3618] the [G3588] Akra , and [G2532] he completed [G4788] the [G3588] barrier [G5418] of the [G3588] city [G4172] of David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473].
28: And [G2532] the [G3588] man Jeroboam [was] strong [G2478] in power [G1411]. And [G2532] Solomon saw [G1492] the [G3588] young man [G3808] that [G3754] a man of works [G2041] he is , and [G2532] he placed [G2525] him [G1473] over [G1909] the [G3588] tribute of house [G3624] of Joseph.
29: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1565] that [G2532] Jeroboam came forth [G1831] out of [G1537] Jerusalem, and [G2532] found [G2147] him [G1473] Ahijah the [G3588] Shilonite the [G3588] prophet [G4396] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598]; and [G2532] [Ahijah] separated him [G1473] from [G1537] the [G3588] way [G3598]. And [G2532] Ahijah was wearing [G4016] cloak [G2440] a new [G2537], and [G2532] both [were] alone [G3441] in [G1722] the [G3588] plain .
30: And [G2532] Ahijah took hold of [G1949] the [G3588] his own cloak [G2440][G1473], the [G3588] new [one [G2537] the [G3588] upon [G1909] him [G1473], and [G2532] he tore [G1284] it [G1473] [into] twelve [G1427] pieces [G4485].
31: And [G2532] he said [G2036] the [G3588] to Jeroboam, Take [G2983] for yourself [G4572] ten [G1176] pieces [G4485]! for [G3754] thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, look [G2400], I [G1473] tear [G4486] the [G3588] government ' from out of [G1537] hand [G5495] of Solomon, and [G2532] I give [G1325] to you [G1473] ten [G1176] chiefdoms .
32: And [G2532] two [G1417] chiefdoms will be of him '[G1473], on account of [G1223] the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473] David, and [G2532] on account of [G1223] Jerusalem the [G3588] city [G4172] which [G3739] I chose [G1586] in [G1722] it [G1473] from out of [G1537] all [G3956] tribes [G5443] of Israel;
33: because he abandoned [G1459] me [G1473], and [G2532] offered [G4160] [unto the [G3588] Ashtoreth abomination of Sidonians, and [G2532] the [G3588] to Chemosh idol [G1497] of Moab, and [G2532] [to the [G3588] Milcom loathsome thing of sons [G5207] of Ammon. And [G2532] he did not [G3756] go [G4198] in [G1722] the [G3588] my ways [G3598][G1473] the [G3588] to do [G4160] the [G3588] upright [thing] before [G1799] me [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] orders of me [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] my ordinances [G1345][G1473], as [G2531] did [G4160] David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473].
34: And [G2532] in no way will I take [G2983] the [G3588] government ' entirely [G3650] from [G1537] his hand [G5495][G1473] (for [G3754] by resisting I will resist him [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] his life [G2222][G1473]) because of [G1223] David the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473] -- whom [G3739] I chose [G1586] him [G1473], who [G3739] guarded [G5442] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] and [G2532] the [G3588] my ordinances [G1345][G1473].
35: And [G2532] I will take [G2983] the [G3588] government ' from out of [G1537] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473], and [G2532] I will give [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588] ten [G1176] chiefdoms .
36: the [G3588] But [to [G1161] son [G5207] of him [G1473] I will give [G1325] the [G3588] two [G1417] chiefdoms , so that [G3704] there might be a designation [to the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473] David all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] before [G1799] me [G1473] in [G1722] Jerusalem, the [G3588] city [G4172] which [G3739] I chose [G1586] for myself [G1683] the [G3588] to put [G5087] the [G3588] name [G3686] of me [G1473] there [G1563].
37: And [G2532] you [G1473] will take [G2983], and [G2532] you will reign in [G1722] wherever [G3739] desires [G1937] the [G3588] your soul [G5590][G1473], and [G2532] you [G1473] will be king over [G1909] Israel.
38: And [G2532] it will be if [G1437] you should guard [G5442] all [G3956] as much [G3745] as I gave charge [G1781] to you [G1473], and [G2532] should go [G4198] in [G1722] the [G3588] my ways [G3598][G1473], and [G2532] do [G4160] the [G3588] upright [thing] before [G1799] me [G1473], the [G3588] to keep [G5442] the [G3588] orders of me [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] my commandments [G1785][G1473], as [G2531] did [G4160] David the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473]; then [G2532] I will be with [G3326] you [G1473], and [G2532] I will build [G3618] for you [G1473] house [G3624] a sure [G4103], as [G2531] I built [G3618] for the [G3588] David.
39: And [G2532] I will give [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588] Israel, and [G2532] I will mistreat [G2558] the [G3588] seed [G4690] of David on account of [G1223] these [things] [G3778], except [G4133] not [G3756] for all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250].
40: And [G2532] Solomon sought [G2212] the [G3588] to put Jeroboam to death [G2289] the [G3588]. And [G2532] he rose up , and [G2532] ran away unto [G1519] Egypt, to [G4314] Shishak king of Egypt. And [G2532] he was in [G1722] Egypt until [G2193] Solomon died .
41: And [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G3062] of the [G3588] words [G3056] of Solomon, and [G2532] all [G3956] as many [things] as [G3745] he did [G4160], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his intellect [G5428][G1473] -- look, have not [G3756][G2400] these [G3778] been written [G1125] in [G1722] scroll of sayings [G4487] of Solomon?
42: And [G2532] the [G3588] days [G2250] which [G3739] Solomon reigned in [G1722] Jerusalem [was] forty [G5062] years [G2094] over [G1909] all [G3956] Israel.
43: And [G2532] Solomon slept [G2837] with [G3326] the [G3588] his fathers [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] they entombed [G2290] him [G1473] in [G1722] city [G4172] of David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473]. And [G2532] reigned Rehoboam the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473] instead of him [G1473].
