1 Chronicles Chapter 19 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] these [things] [G3778], that [G2532] died Nahash king of sons [G5207] of Ammon], and [G2532] reigned Hanun son [G5207] of him [G1473] instead of him [G1473].
2: And [G2532] David said [G2036], I will do [G4160] an act of kindness [G1656] with [G3326] Hanun son [G5207] of Nahash, as [G5613] performed [G4160] the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473] with [G3326] me [G1473] kindness [G1656]. And [G2532] David sent word-conveyers (messengers) ' the [G3588] to comfort [G3870] him [G1473] because of [G4012] the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473]. And [G2532] came [G2064] the [G3588] servants [G3816] of David] into [G1519] land '[G1093] of sons [G5207] of Ammon to [G4314] Hanun, the [G3588] to comfort [G3870] him [G1473].
3: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] rulers of sons [G5207] of Ammon to [G4314] Hanun, Is [G3361] David glorifying [G1392] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473], to send to you [G1473] comforters [G3870]? Is it not [G3780] that [G3704] they may search out [G1830] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] the [G3588] to spy out [G2684] the [G3588] land '[G1093] came [G2064] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473] to [G4314] you [G1473]?
4: And [G2532] Hanun took [G2983] the [G3588] servants [G3816] of David, and [G2532] he shaved [G3587] them [G1473], and [G2532] removed the [G3588]ir uniforms [G1473] the [G3588] half [way [G2255] unto [G2193] the [G3588] wrapping . And [G2532] he sent them [away [G1473].
5: And [G2532] [others] came [G2064], and [G2532] they reported the [G3588] to David for [G4012] the [G3588] men . And [G2532] he sent to [G1519] meet them [G1473], for [G3754] were the [G3588] men disgraced exceedingly [G4970]. And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king , Sit down [G2523] in [G1722] Jericho until [G2193] the [G3588] rise up the [G3588] your beards [G1473], and [G2532] return [G1994]!
6: And [G2532] knew [G1492] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ammon] that [G3754] were put to shame [G2617] the [G3588] people [G2992] of David]. And [G2532] sent Hanun and [G2532] sons [G5207] of Ammon] a thousand [G5507] talents [G5007] of silver the [G3588] to hire [G3409] for themselves [G1438] of [G1537] Syria of Mesopotamia, and [G2532] from [G1537] Syria of Maachah, and [G2532] from [G3844] Zobah, chariots and [G2532] horsemen [G2460].
7: And [G2532] they hired [G3409] for themselves [G1438] two [G1417] and [G2532] thirty [G5144] thousand [G5505] chariots , and [G2532] the [G3588] king of Maachah and [G2532] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473]. And [G2532] they came [G2064] and [G2532] camped before [G1715] Medeba. And [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ammon gathered together [G4863] from out of [G1537] the [G3588]ir cities [G4172], and [G2532] they came [G2064] to [G1519] the [G3588] wage war [G4170].
8: And [G2532] David heard , and [G2532] he sent the [G3588] Joab, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] military [G4756] of for the [G3588]ces [G1415].
9: And [G2532] went forth [G1831] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ammon], and [G2532] deployed for [G1519] war [G4171] by [G3844] the [G3588] gatehouse [G4440] of the [G3588] city [G4172]. And [G2532] the [G3588] kings , the [G3588] [ones] coming [G2064], camped by [G2596] themselves [G1438] in [G1722] the [G3588] plain .
10: And [G2532] Joab looked [at] [G1492] that [G3754] it happened [G1096] in their facing off [G1473] the [G3588] to wage war [G4170] before [G4314] him [G1473] from [G2596] in front [G4383] and [G2532] from behind , that [G2532] he chose [G1586] of [G1537] every [G3956] young man [G3494] of [G1537] Israel, and [G2532] he deployed before [G1726] the [G3588] Syria.
11: And [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G2645] of the [G3588] people [G2992] he put [G1325] into [G1722] hand [G5495] of Abishai the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], and [G2532] they deployed right opposite sons [G5207] of Ammon.
12: And [G2532] he said [G2036], If [G1437] Syria should strengthen [G2901] over [G5228] me [G1473], then [G2532] you will be to me [G1473] for [G1519] deliverance [G4991]; and [G2532] if [G1437] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ammon should strengthen [G2901] over [G5228] you [G1473], then [G2532] I will deliver [G4982] you [G1473].
13: Be manly ! and [G2532] we will grow in strength [G1765] for [G4012] the [G3588] our people [G2992][G1473], and [G2532] for [G4012] the [G3588] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] of us [G1473]; and [G2532] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] good in [G1722] his eyes [G3788][G1473] will do [G4160].
14: And [G2532] Joab deployed and [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473] right opposite Syria for [G1519] war [G4171]; and [G2532] they fled [G5343] from them [G1473].
15: And [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ammon looked [at] [G1492] that [G3754] fled [G5343] the [G3588] Syrians], and [G2532] they fled [G5343] even [G2532] themselves [G1473] from in front [G4383] of Abishai, and [G2532] from in front [G4383] of Joab the [G3588] brother of him [G1473]. And [G2532] they came [G2064] into [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172]. And [G2532] Joab went [G2064] to [G1519] Jerusalem.
16: And [G2532] saw [G1492] the [G3588] Syrian] that [G3754] put him to flight [G1473] Israel], and [G2532] he sent word-conveyers (messengers) ', and [G2532] they brought [G1806] the [G3588] Syrian from [G1537] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215]. And [G2532] Shophach the [G3588] commander-in-chief of force [G1411] of Hadarezer [was] in front of [G1715] them [G1473].
17: And [G2532] it was reported the [G3588] to David. And [G2532] he gathered together [G4863] the [G3588] all [G3956] Israel, and [G2532] passed over [G1224] the [G3588] Jordan, and [G2532] came [G2064] unto [G1909] them [G1473], and [G2532] deployed against [G1909] them [G1473]. And [G2532] Syria deployed right opposite David for [G1519] war [G4171], and [G2532] they waged war [G4170] with [G3326] him [G1473].
18: And [G2532] Syria fled [G5343] the [G3588] from in front [G4383] of Israel. And [G2532] David killed off the [G3588] Syrian seven [G2033] thousand [G5505] [of the] chariots , and [G2532] forty [G5062] thousand [G5505] men on foot ; and [G2532] the [G3588] Shophach commander-in-chief of for the [G3588]ce [G1411] he killed .
19: And [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] servants [G3816] of Hadarezer] that [G3754] they failed [G4417] from in front [G4383] of Israel, and [G2532] they ordained [G1303] with [G3326] David a peace [G1515], and [G2532] they served [G1398] him [G1473]. And [G2532] wanted not [G3756][G2309] the [G3588] Syria the [G3588] to help the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ammon any longer [G2089].
